Is it just me or is the AUTO HVAC setting bunk?

The “worst” was my old 1991 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. In Auto in the winter it would blow scorching hot air on your feet and ice cold a/c at your face. The little hvac “computer” display even showed you this.

in the winter I use the seat heat primarily. The hvac is adjusted to supplement

maybe a company could be convinced to make vent louvers to direct the heat better?

Put it on max defrost.

In 5 minutes your face will be melting off.

I look forward to that feature in the spring when the top is off and I'm heading out on an early fishing trip.

Turn the heated seats on high and you can fry an egg at your fishing hole

Glad I have the basic. On/off, cold/hot temp. Only use the dash vents.

I would never buy any vehicle with auto HVAC That said the floor is the best place for heat and probably why the majority is routed there. Isn't there a defrost button? My manual HVAC has a defrost button to override the current setting with a single button press. The manual HVAC in the Bronco is awesome. Big round knobs for temperature and blower, and buttons to select routing without using screen.

The Bronco AUTO setting seems to be the worst I've ever experienced in a vehicle. Possibly user error but I think not. Anyone else experiencing that when it's in AUTO it seems to be a complete mystery as to the routing of air. There could possibly be gnomes moving air around or maybe some type of magic spell in there. I get anemic flow from the top and middle vents in auto and it seems to route everything to the floor. I always need to go into the settings and select the dash vents and defrost vents. Why wouldn't the default AUTO route to the dash vents like any normal car? Is it just me? Happy to self reflect on using my AUTO setting.

For real on the seat warmers! There is no way you can leave them on high for any extended period!

You are correct, it’s the worst auto system I’ve ever encountered. If ford would fix it and the music box, it would be awesome.
One more thing, when it’s on auto, it should be auto. In my Super Duity’s, you get in and it’s 120 degrees, the unit runs as hard as it can to get the cab cooled off and then the fan slows down, same thing in the winter. Don’t understand the need for a 3 speed? Not really auto……

I've had my Bronco going on 4 years and never once used the auto setting on the HVAC. Hell since winter started here in AK back in October it's just on high heat and 6 speed fan set to defrost and floor, every once an awhile I'll turn it down to 78 if it gets too warm 😂
Chicagoland here. My wife keeps it at 75 and the heated seats on max. When it get a chance to drive her Bronco I turn off the seats and turn it to a still too hot, but more reasonable 72 as she's always in the passenger seat.

Works fine for me - and avoids arguments about temperature with the boss. She does fiddle with it manually during the cooler month here as she prefers some air on her face, but we're nearly done with our cool month now, and back to A/C!

In summer, it's always on hi anyway.
