Pretty much the same thing here, lived with a crack and a bunch of chips for a year and a half or so, got it replaced and didn't make it a week on the second windshield.I cracked my 1st windshield about 2 years ago. Had it replaced on a Friday, and the following Monday caught a rock and cracked the new one. Since then I just keep Rain-X Windshield Repair in my Bronco. Catch a rock, fill the crack, move along.
Only 4000 miles but no cracks on my Bronco. No cracks on my prior long term CJ-5 either. Crack on my CJ-7 but that was due to the hood flipping up and back while driving - big smiley crack across the whole windshield from that event. This is getting out of hand. First off I don't tailgate people. The debris from on coming vehicles has been the cause of multiple broken windshields. I have owned a 22 Bronco 2dr Badlands and it had 3 windshields crack in a period of 2 years. I was able to trade that Bronco in and order a 24 Everglades. I have had the Everglades since April 24. I was on my way to the dump and an on coming harvest truck had some grain come off the top of it. I heard something hit the windshield but the impact was not very loud. About 5 miles later a crack appeared from the top on the passenger side. Has anyone had better luck with a windshield than is not a factory one? At almost $1k a windshield, that adds up quick.
Side not. I spent 21 years in the military and in that time I only had to replace 1 windshield in my vehicles.
Thanks
Brian
Yes. I had one chip, but dealt with it right away. Only 11,000 miles in, but I haven't yet had a broken windshield. *Knocks on Wood*This is getting out of hand. First off I don't tailgate people.
