I cracked my 1st windshield about 2 years ago. Had it replaced on a Friday, and the following Monday caught a rock and cracked the new one. Since then I just keep Rain-X Windshield Repair in my Bronco. Catch a rock, fill the crack, move along. 🤷‍♂️
Pretty much the same thing here, lived with a crack and a bunch of chips for a year and a half or so, got it replaced and didn't make it a week on the second windshield.

Cracked a year and 1/2 ago, some rock thrown by an 18 wheeler way up in front of us.

"Repaired" with one of those super glue kits, and it hasn't spread and shows a bit less. I'll replace the windshield if/when it cracks elsewhere because it will only last a short time intact anyway.

55K/3 Years and still on my original, (Now I"ve cursed myself). Drive I-95 in Northern Virginia 5 days a week, Averaged one windshield a year in Wranglers on the same route. Not saying the Bronco Windshield and angle are great... but there are worse ones ;)

This is getting out of hand. First off I don't tailgate people. The debris from on coming vehicles has been the cause of multiple broken windshields. I have owned a 22 Bronco 2dr Badlands and it had 3 windshields crack in a period of 2 years. I was able to trade that Bronco in and order a 24 Everglades. I have had the Everglades since April 24. I was on my way to the dump and an on coming harvest truck had some grain come off the top of it. I heard something hit the windshield but the impact was not very loud. About 5 miles later a crack appeared from the top on the passenger side. Has anyone had better luck with a windshield than is not a factory one? At almost $1k a windshield, that adds up quick.

Side not. I spent 21 years in the military and in that time I only had to replace 1 windshield in my vehicles.

Thanks
Brian
Only 4000 miles but no cracks on my Bronco. No cracks on my prior long term CJ-5 either. Crack on my CJ-7 but that was due to the hood flipping up and back while driving - big smiley crack across the whole windshield from that event.

I'm religious about not driving behind a truck of any kind, I fall back or zoom to past. I learned that driving I25 in Colorado for years back when uncovered gravel trucks were allowed. But sounds like you already take care about tailing - chalk it up to bad luck?

I installed an ExoShield Ultra film and have had great luck so far. I’ve just had a couple small hits, so I haven’t had a chance to test it against a proper rock yet, thankfully. It does lower the blood pressure when driving as the windshield is not a constant worry anymore. Installation was fairly easy.

21 with almost 49k miles...when I drop the kiddo off at the bus stop that is how they spend time. The last count was around 25 cracks, chips, breaks. I think I went a whole 2 maybe 3 weeks before I got my first crack.

in 19yrs of marriage with 3 cars we have had 0 cars with a crack for maybe 2-3months. Wifes car picked up a crack last winter so now only 1 out of 3 does not have a crack.

Yes. I had one chip, but dealt with it right away. Only 11,000 miles in, but I haven't yet had a broken windshield. *Knocks on Wood*

57,000 miles and still on the factory windshield. No chips, no cracks.

I’ve never had a broken windshield in the 41 years I’ve been driving and only one chip. I got 5 chips on one road trip on my Bronco. I truly believe company’s use the cheapest materials they can use. Engineering, manufacturing techniques are amazing these days. But it comes down to material and bean counters in my opinion.
