Is keyless entry keypad installed at factory or dealer?

Unfortunately I saw one unloaded at the dealer this week and the keypad was installed.

They cost ten dollars less on the accessories page then on the B&P.

But B&P shows color matched. Can you buy from accessories with color match or only grey?

In all seriousness, this does ride a fine line between valid use cases and too ugly to install. The ford pass app is nice but there are certainly areas where it would be useless due to no coverage. I like the idea of being able to install it in an inconspicuous place. (Not the muffler)

I installed mine on this metal thingy I found under the back. It’s hidden but easy to get to.

Did you order it separate from dealer and install -or- did you remove and relocate it? If relocated. What did you use to free up gule - Goo-Gone?

Mine did not come with the card with the default factory code.

Any idea where to find it? I tried the two key fobs method to display it on the dash but that didn't work. Also looked for the sticker on the fuse box in the passenger foot well and it wasn't there either.

Any other ideas? The dealership hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I realize this post was while ago but.
I found this under the steering wheel on the fuse panel. Even tho mine did it come with a keypad. Others are correct tho the stock on keypad does not use this code.

I actually just photoshopped a stock image on there. Please don’t put your keyless entry keypad there. But if you are removing one, goo gone should do the trick.

I’d also like to know this. I bought it from Ford Accessories online and would rather not drop $80 for such a simple thing.

It is not accessible through Forrscan. You must go to your dealer and hook up to their FDRS. It is a bit more than five seconds but, I get it. It is a Ford service department only function. Once it has been paired to your car, it is easy to change the code, thereafter, by yourself.

I ordered the $100 part and kindly asked, since there was no negotiating on MSRP, for the coding of the keypad to be done free of charge. I then mounted the keypad inside the fuel door. Saved $150 this way and got to place the keypad where I wanted it to be.

Mine came from the factory or the dealer popped it on without asking me.

You can see it right above the door handle on the photo of mine at the Ford Factory. So installed at the factory. And I'm glad to have that keypad.
