Is the keypad installed at the factory or is it just stuck on at the dealership?

Either way it's probably just a stick on keypad that acts like a key fob. In fact it uses one of the fob "spaces" in the relevant module.

My salesman suggested ordering it separately so I don't have to deal with residue upon removal. So I'm under the impression it's factory installed.

Mine did not come with the card with the default factory code.

Any idea where to find it? I tried the two key fobs method to display it on the dash but that didn't work. Also looked for the sticker on the fuse box in the passenger foot well and it wasn't there either.

Any other ideas? The dealership hasn't gotten back to me yet.

The dealer will probably have to look in the module and write it down for you. They should be able to do it quick with their diag laptop.

This is not true. If you lost the card and forgot the code you have to buy a new keypad and program it. No modules store the code. It is stored on the transmitter itself. The BCM just sees it as another fob. If the keypad were hardwired, that would be a different story.

I've seen videos of the Broncos rolling off the production line with the keypads already installed on the door. I'm going to take mine off with some Goof Off and relocate to the filler door. Shouldn't be a big deal if you have some fishing line or some floss and some new adhesive.

It's been a while so you may be correct. I know I've looked up codes but I don't recall if they were stick on or hardwired.

I guess I just needed to post to hear back from the dealer. They just said come in and they'll put on a new keypad that has a code.

I installed mine on this metal thingy I found under the back. Itā€™s hidden but easy to get to.
