Dealership tells me it’s quite the splice job to install factory wiring harness. Don’t think I want the electrical troubleshooting problems in a few years. Has anyone found an adapter for the tail light maybe that gives you a way to tap in without splicing?

There’s a few plug n play harnesses. Looks like you googled it so should be in good shape. Happy to answers questions about my experience installing mine.

You probably found it but the Curt wiring harness is plug and play besides the power wire to the battery.

Well, what id like to do is use the Curt or some other plug and play and then splice in the factory harness, so that I could make use of its connections. Is that possible?

Sure but it won't do you any good unless you have a trailer that only has turn signal and running lights but a 7 pin connector. Using the Curt or other similar wiring solutions will only give you the 4-Flat plug functionality, no brakes, reverse, or +12V functionality
