I’m pretty sure the mustang is actually going to a 4.8L. I forget where I read that.

Think they accidentally typed a 6 instead of a 4?

Ford just phased out the v10. Replaced it with a 7.3 L pushrod v8. As far as a 6.8L, as a dealership service tech we don’t always get info on engines in development but with the current direction ford is going with the hybrid and all electric f150s and the Mach E, i have doubts that a 6.8 L will ever end up in a production car. Maybe a super duty truck to replace the current gas engine

I'd be more inclined to believe it's 4.8L, not 6.8, as that displacement has been rumored in the past.

Right? Talk about the ultimate troll on FCA.

Oh yeah? TRX is a raptor killer? Let's add two more cylinders. Mopar was famous for their v10. Can you imagine ford making a TRX and Viper killer by putting a V10 in the Raptor and GT500?

Bore and stroke the Coyote to 5.4 and add 2 cylinders to get a 6.8 liter Dire Wolf or Liger?

I'm wondering if the 6.8 will be locked to only the Raptor and GT500? That's alot of motor for something entry level.

I've often wondered if Ford is going to move the V8 up market and only make hybrids and ecoboost for the lower trims.
