I was checking the undercarriage of my new Bronco Wildtrak and noticed the washers and nuts on either side of the front of the vehicle are not tightened all the way down to the frame. In fact, you could say they are downright "loose".

Is this right...or did the assembly plant simply forget to tighten? So far as I can tell, they are the bolts that mount the Bronco to the frame. There must be a logical explanation or this is a pretty big QC issue. Thoughts????

THANKS!!!!

Yeah that looks like a body/core support mount bolt. I'd run it up with a few ugga-duggas from an impact and move on with my day...

EDIT:
After taking a pic and emailing dealer, just to let 'em know.
If you don't have access to the pneumatic uggadugga, I'd take it to them, get them to run it up.
If it is the only one, you are fine to drive it there.

My first thought was...this can't be right! Then I thought it might have something to do with letting the factory suspension settle.

I would take it straight to the dealer for it to be corrected and documented. I don't think you are at any major risk but it's a good idea that at the very least your local dealership is aware and checks other Broncos they may receive and/or notifies Ford.

Very surprising for sure but I'd tighten it and move along. I guess we should all pay pretty close attention under there.

Looks like a body mount. If it is, just tighten it and be done with it. Check the others while you are at it.

Having it towed to the dealer to fix and document it is absurd.

What do the other mounts look like? It seems like it might be missing a rubber piece there, but I would have to have a Bronco of my own to know for sure.

Looks to me like it may be missing the rubber isolator.

Would be nice to see a comparison picture.

Have the dealer look at it ASAP, and maybe avoid driving it until then.

(Edit: looking at @Lagrange 6g’s pic, tighten it up, and then show the dealer what you found / have them torque to specs.)

Those are the bolts that will strip out or break off in a number of years after salt exposure on the roads. That only happens if you need to back them out for some type o major body or drivetrain work, though. They hold the body to the frame. They're kind of important.

I've found loose screws/bolts on fords before. The most recent was a ground bolt inside the dash of a 2015 Mustang GT. I saw it while upside down in the passenger seat changing the cabin air filter. I had to fish a hinged headed ratchet wrench up into the dash to tighten this ground screw down. The ground lug on the screw was just hanging loosely on the screw.
