UPDATE: The order definitely does not automatically convert.

Just went into my dealer and demanded to speak with someone who could actually update my order. They then told me that it was too late to update orders and the system was locked out. I preceded to lose my sh!t!!

They had a myriad of excuses (parts supplies were running short, people made too many changes, etc.), none of which were convincing. Finally I was able to speak with the guy who was handling all Bronco orders for the dealership, and he again told me it was too late to make any changes. I then asked him to explain to me what would happen to my First Edition order since you can’t get it with the MOD top, to which he responded, “I don’t know why you couldn’t get it. Your order shows it as an option.”

HOW DO THESE DEALERS HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT THIS AT THIS POINT!!!

Finally I said, “Can you just try to change the order and see what happens?” Despite his insistence that it wouldn’t work, guess what: update confirmed! I had him print my order summary and low and behold it was updated and my priority code was still a non-99 number (changed from 19 to 10 but I don’t think that means anything).

Moral of the story is:

  1. Your FE order will not automatically convert your top to MIC if you initially order a Modular Top.
  2. Insist that your dealer complete the change
  3. Insist that they provide you with a copy of your order.
  4. If the dealer tells you that they can’t update the order, ask them to humor you and at least try!

Original Post:
So I contacted my dealer last week (4/7) to update my FE order (needed to switch from MOD to MIC top). Dealer said he would update the order and send me the revised order sheet.
By the next day, 4/8, I still hadn’t received my updated order sheet, so I stopped by the dealership to just pick up the sheet in person. My dealer said that he was swamped and everything was being uploaded, but the system was lagging so it may take a little longer to complete. Fair enough, so I told him I’d wait for the email.
Next day4/9, still no email and we are now past the date to update the order. Contacted Ford customer service and they confirmed my order was still in the system and everything was fine (but couldn’t tell me any specifics about my order). However, when they asked for my 4-digit order number from the original order sheet, they claimed that the 4 character code (starting with a letter (r if that mean anything to anyone) as opposed to 4 digits) was incorrect. Now I’m starting to get worried.
Finally got in contact with my dealer this afternoon, and he was surprised I hadn’t gotten an updated email confirming my order change. He then tired to log into the system and said it was freezing on him, but he could see that I had Modular Hardtop selected. When I told him, “yeah that’s why I’ve been calling to confirm that you changed the order to a MIC top,” he said he would need to talk to their designated Bronco order specialist because they system kept freezing, but he would be in tomorrow.
Long story short, I’m concerned that my FE order is totally f#cked! Does anyone know of a number to someone at Ford who can actually view my order and tell me what’s going on? The people at 800-334-4375 are in Florida and can’t seem to tell me any specifics. The only thing they keep saying is that I should try to address the issue with dealer. MY DEALER IS THE ISSUE!
I appreciate any assistance anyone can provide. Beyond frustrated at this point!

I have changed my order around and never got another email about changes. I believe you only get the original email when you first put the order in. I would ask your dealer for the invoice thing. Every time I changed my order I got an updated invoice. It show everything that was ordered

No need to worry the MOD top is no longer an option on FE. It automatically updates to MIC

I think that’s the case as well, but what is bothering me is I can’t get my dealer to email me (or hand me in person) an updated copy of my order preview (which I got when I converted my reservation to an order).

email his boss. That will light a fire under his ass. If you can't get what you need from your salesman there is always someone above them

This is incorrect. My FE Customer decided to stay with the MOD Top. It doesn't automatically change. The Dealer has to physically make that change.

im not sure that’s correct because when he got into the order system it still showed I had a MOD top on my order. My concern is that as long as my order still shows a MOD top it will never convert to a production date.

Just curious, what happens to his order? Since there won’t be any FEs with MOD tops, does he automatically get a 22MY Badlands?

Not possible as ALL FEs will be built in 2021 and the MOD top is a 2022 option your customer will get his FE with a MIC top Mark my words if you'd like. If you're a dealer you should do some research on it so you are better informed.

Sorry but I called Corp today and was told I had to handle my issues with the dealership, I asked 2 weeks ago to switch to the grey carbonized top, the dealership never contacted me, I called them on the 7 th they had not changed anything, so I called Corp again, they recommend I get a change form from the dealership, I had to educate them that the grey carbonized top was the mic and that’s what I wanted it changed to, I asked if they would email me the change form, they said I would have to come in and get it, I said be there in 15 mins, the form was dated and time stamped within that 15 mins, glad I got the form, sounds like you’re sc****d, good luck, today I told them I wanted to add the towing package, I was told by them and Corp it’s too late for a my21, good luck

Again, wrong. Unless you have VIN assigned you can change anything you want. Your dealer is either dumb or lazy.

See top blurb under FE to alleviate an confusion. For clarification waiting for MY22 is referring to customer changing to a new trim and waiting till next year to take delivery.
