Good points.

i ordered 6” wide self adhesive flashing tape. Figured I could put the 3” wide elastic band in the middle and have the self adhesive flashing layered on the top and bottom. So basically a flashing/elastic band sandwich with no exposed residue. No threading. No holes. But may run risk of adhesive mixing the water and having some nasty run off

Will keep you guys posted on how this comes, and how effective this is.

Basically building a bra made out of extra absorbent microfiber material that will hook onto the mirrors with an elastic band. it will hug tight over the front seal and reduce the amount of water during heavy rain.

Don’t have a garage so looking for some peace of mind when the Bronco is parked in heavy rain.

it feels like the seal above the windshield will likely be recalled, or potentially the drain plugs. It’s been reported quite a bit that heavy rain leads to water build up in the corner overflow reservoirs that can’t drain fast enough. From what I’ve seen first hand, water finds a way out of the A pillars (hood release on the drivers side and airbag panel on the passenger side).

Until Ford addresses, this seems like a quick fix without messing around with a tarp on a somewhat regular basis, which could also scratch the paint. I could go with a bestop sunrider for 1k but there’s no hard evidence yet that it will solve this problem given the product isn’t out until later this month, and the issue resides in the seal. Although if sunrider overlaps the seal better than the MIC panels it would potentially work too.

@Ford Motor Company
I had a leak on the front passenger side of the vehicle that ended up coming out of the airbag compartment in the passenger side A-pillar.

I took it to the dealer, who then sent it to a 3rd party that specializes in aftermarket tops, sunroofs, etc. They leak checked the vehicle and determined the issue to be one of the drain tubes and ended up replacing it. I have driven in moderate rain since and haven't had an issue. I would take it to a dealer and wouldn't count on Ford issuing recall.

Have we really reached the point where MIC issues are so bad, that I can no longer tell if these posts are legit or satire?

WTF. Why is this necessary on a brand new vehicle? Props to the OPs creativity but this is nuts.

Please stop designing things better than Ford, you need a fix that will advertise to the world, MY BRONCO LEAKS.

Until you do that Ford will not bother with your minor problem, try something like this.

Water leak specialist at dealer said the seam was not completely sealed properly and fixed it. I dont have any more specifics, nor real world post-fix testing with heavy rain, but that was today's feedback from the service department. I guess it was not drain plug related, and needed some type of epoxy at weak point.
