Dealer event a Ted Bitt Ford in Chantilly VA.

I loved every bit of it. For a long time (or what felt like a long time) I went back and forth between a Black Diamond with Squatch/Mid and Badlands with 33s/High (due to budget mostly). They had both there and my decision to go with the BL was confirmed. The 12" screen (with 360) IMO is greater the Squatch if you have to choose. Reasons being utility and height. I don't need 35" tires on the East Coast and without a step it was a strong step up to get into (wife and kids would struggle more). The 33s still felt huge and the 12" screen looked beautiful. The soft top looks like a pain in the ass though.

2 items of note/debate. You will notice that the 33" came with the upgraded beadlock rims but had the AT KO2s on them. I asked the event guy and he said that the KO2s were the tire that came with both and you were only upgrading to get the beadlock. This goes against what is published and is still preproduction but thought it was interesting and may cause a firestorm.

Next, the BL had a cargo mat in the trunk. The guy said it was an option but I can't remember seeing it. Either way, the cargo mat blocks the tie down straps so if you want to store the doors it is not going to be easy to reach those hooks under the mat. The trunk was still durable even without the mat so you may want to consider that if you opted for that upgrade. IMO it would be one or the other and the mat isn't worth it unless you have like dog crates or are using it to move bricks.

Overall, incredible vehicle and I am really excited to get it.

Thanks for sharing your perspective and congrats on getting to see the Broncos!

I think the 33" BFG K02s come standard on the BL with the standard alloy wheels and the upgraded beadlock wheels. It actually costs around $700 more to get the 33" Goodyear M/Ts.

I came to same conclusion with getting the Badlands, bigger screen and 33s.

Question about the cargo mat... did you see what the material is underneath it on the Badlands? Hopefully not carpeted but if it is, I'm definitely getting the cargo mat and will find a way to make it work with the door and top storage.

Thanks for the write up. I had struggled with those two exact builds and also went BL. Glad to hear the BL look held up. I had also struggled with the optional rims and the OG rims on the BL. In some of the latest pics I’ve seen I’ve been happy with the OG rims. What are your thoughts? Which one did you choose?

I went OG. I liked the reviews of the KO2s and don't need beadlock.

It's not carpet. Durable plastic material not sure what it was though.

Why is that BL missing the sway bar disconnect button???? Damn these preproduction units...

Update: A few have pointed out it is there, but missing trail turn assist since it is a manual, makes sense now, thanks for pointing me in the right direction fam!

The upgraded wheels are $1000. The Goodyear 33s are another $600, the KOs are standard on either non SAS wheel.
Build and Price wasn't very clear on that at all which is where the confusion was. B&P has it at $695 for both the MT and Beadlock. Oh well.

Thanks for the photos. How did you like the iconic gray color? I don’t think I’ve seen a Bronco photo with that color before. It doesn’t seem to be a very popular color for Broncos although I see it a lot on F 150’s. But as of now that’s my top choice.

It was alright but nothing to write home about. I went A51. The AMB was better then expected.

Where are you getting $700 for 5 tires plus mount and balancing?

Adding 35"s to a Badlands looks like a no sweat affair. Lots of room left in the wheel well....

Yeah I saw the AMB Bronco at Barrett Jackson and it was pretty spectacular under the spotlights.
