Finally had some time to tear into my bronco mods a bit! Up first was a JCR Vanguard front bumper with Adaptive Cruise relocation bracket.

And the next day (today) it was time to install the winch.

I wanted it on a 500 amp isolator, and the perfect thing on the bronco to trigger this is the overhead switch console! I wired into switch 6 and jumpered to the purple wire up by the radiator to keep it really clean looking.

Mounted the isolator to the battery tray using one of the empty holes. a single bolt holts this on for now, but it feels snug enough to never move.

And the finished product minus the winch hook.

let me know your thoughts! specs on the winch have it pulling less than 500 amps at full load, so that big isolator should work just fine.

there will be video of the winch install and bumper install.

Nice job. Will be curious to see the front camera view with it fully installed and a side profile shot.

Couple of questions:

  • How is the fit and finish of the bumper?
  • The lamps look recessed, is the bumper blocking much of the output?
    • Also curious what the brackets look like that JCR built in.
  • Love the use of an isolator! Are you using it as the sole power-hot switch for the winch or are you also using the normal winch power switch?

bumper is very nice. lines up perfect on the bronco. lamps are recessed. i haven't tested them in the dark yet. but they are only recessed about 1 inch. so i highly doubt it'll affect anything.

i've always wanted an isolator on the winch to keep that un-fused "dead short" from burning down the vehicle. there is no power switch on the winch so it's the only thing in-line to cut power to it.

I recently installed the comeup seal slim 9.5 directly to the battery.
Which isolator did you go with?

Your control box wires are routed cleaner then mine :(

Are you using the JCR ACC relocation bracket with this bumper? I like how that bracket looks easy to install and doesn't involve cutting up parts on your front end or removing fins from the intercooler.

The reason I am asking is because the Q and A section of the web page on this bumper is recommending the ADD bracket:

https://www.addictivedesertdesigns.com/ford-bronco-adaptive-cruise-control-bracket

I dont know if this is from an old response, but I am looking to see if the JCR bracket works with this JCR bumper, and how well. Have you had any issues since install?

Thanks!

i am using their relocation bracket, and it works pretty much fine!

however, i get some weird reflections off of snowy roads some times and the bronco thinks i'm tailgaiting someone when there is nobody in front of me for miles lol! doubt that's from the bracket. I have a feeling it's echoing off the snow and bumper since it's recessed in there.

have not had a single issue actually following people on the highway using ACC.
