Felt like the Bronco inclusion was kind of dumb… like u just drove by it, so what? Also why not pick a fugly Bronco with a softop? I think a lot of people probably saw that scene and said “oh, I like how that other one looks.” Just don’t see how it was advantageous at all for Jeep other than a nod for the few die hards that were already buying Jeeps anyways.
You just wrote something here; went past it, but let’s go back….. “Just don’t see how it was advantageous at for Jeep other than a not for the few die hards”.

Well, that’s the issue or concern for Jeep. Some of their die hards who they depend on to buy Jeep after Jeep have now moved to Bronco. This thread alone has several n00bs who just joined and moved from a Jeep Gladiator or Wrangler; that behavior is ripe with risk for a car company.

Brand loyalty is paramount in the car business, thus the gather events, swag, forums, etc. The attrition rate for Wrangler is starting to get out of hand. Add to that the mismanagement from Stellantis and failure to understand the American car culture and buyer and you have a recipe for bankruptcy or a brand sale.

I for one don’t want to see Wrangler go away. I think that’s the truck to get if you’re into true rock crawling. However, the chasing of the big money mall crawler can become intoxicating; even Ford is caught in that fool‘s gold loop at this very moment likely from the execs. That lack of respect for the buyers who actually care and create the culture is what makes them walk away. Toyota is also currently in a similar death loop with these hybrids that no one who really uses these trucks for other than commuting and pulling up at soccer practice wants.

Wranglers started to cost a ton with the JL, but why? No reason, just stupid and greedy. So, along comes Bronco with a better value proposition and equal heritage and BAM!!!

Now Jeep is in trouble and had to spend their last few dollars to bet on black. Again, no new owners won, but if they can keep the ones they got not to come back, maybe, just maybe, they can survive.

We shall see..

Jeep did not diss the Bronco.. The guy in the Jeep gives a head nod to the Bronco as they pass and as they are passing the narrator says 'freedom is the ability to inspire'..

Good grief man, Jeeps are awesome and Broncos are awesome. This fanboy nonsense is not awesome..
I agree that Broncos and Jeeps are awesome and I have no hate for Jeeps. I'm glad they kept the market alive and strong enough to justify Ford bringing back the Bronco as an off-road capabale vehicle and not a generic malllcrawler with a prevously respected name (I'm looking at you Chevy Blazer). But that ad was absolutely taking a shot at the Ford Bronco. All that means is Jeep is feeling the competition. It's all good.

I disagree, but more on emphasis than primary point.
My reading of the ad is that it's to promote the brand to the woke element, which I derisively referred to in a previous post as the soy-boy market. Part of this is to bolster the EV market, which is sure to suffer in the new cultural, financial, and political environment. Listen to the ad carefully, and you'll see woke words and catch phrases sprinkled throughout: "choice," "get along," "diversity...strength."

Lots of Americana, and ode to heroism. No women in the ad, I noticed.

They showed the product in unpaved settings, but not doing any demanding or aggressive rockcrawling; that would intimidate their target purchaser, who wants some--but not that much--capability, i.e. just enough off-roadiness to appear masculine but not macho. Also interesting is that they got an alpha-male spokesman whose political leanings are very well known...and who drives a Tesla.

In October 2024 Jeep recalled 154,000 Wrangler and Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrids due to risk of fire. You can see why Jeep paid Harrison Ford to plug their plug-ins in a warm and fuzzy, if not indirect way.

The ad scores in terms of reach, but lacks a coherent motivating message. And given its price to produce and run, will likely miss on the frequency (repetition) needed for it to produce results.

Not Italian.

Stellantis is incorporated and headquartered in the Netherlands, but it’s more complicated than that.

Jeep is owned by FCA US LLC, d/b/a Stellantis North America.

FCA US LLC is legally a US company, and this is documented in Stellantis SEC filings.

These are facts. You’re entitled to your opinion and interpretation of these facts, but Jeep is not an Italian company, and legal ownership of Jeep is by an American company.

The ultimate corporate parent really doesn’t matter much in a world in which securities are traded internationally and large institutional investors manage funds on behalf of individuals, companies, etc.
The “F” in FCA stands for Fiat.
Stellantis was born when they merged with Peugeot.

Jean Girard wanting to appear as Ricky Bobby.

Doesn’t bother me in a world economy that has lost its identity with globalization, but laugh at Jean Girard stoking American patriotism to sell a car, while throwing a little bit of shade at Ford at the same time. Ford. The only US automaker that didn’t take bailout money in 2009. Henry Ford….might as well of invented apple pie, baseball, and drafted the first and second amendments.

I really thought I wanted a Jeep this time last year. Never had one, was shopping for my 50th B’Day present for myself. I had my heart set on a Jeep. Until I drove one, and saw the window sticker in the backseat at $74,000 for a 4xe Rubicon. What a loud, cramped, wandering, uncomfortable mess. After my test drive was complete, I was literally on my way to the Porsche dealership for a certified used Cayenne instead, when I saw a Bronco sitting out front of the Ford dealership. Had not a clue what it was, but caught my eye and decided to take a look. The rest is history…

You are on the right track with the wokeness - just Jeep meeting the Super Bowl’s “we all just need to get along” virtue signaling quota.

Meanwhile, due to Ford's utter and complete serial incompetence starting around 2022, I'm happily enjoying the '23 JL I bought instead.

I'll reevaluate once the full warranty is up in April of '28 and see where things lie, hopefully by then the kinks are ironed out with Bronco.

Yeah, I literally couldn’t care less about Harrison Ford’s political leanings (or yours for that matter). Everything doesn’t have to be divisive/partisan. I like the ad. They could have thrown actual shade at Broncos, or pointed out how crappy their MIC hardtop is or the weak tie rods, but they avoided sowing division where they could have. I love my Bronco; I also have nothing bad to say about a Jeep. Weird, huh?
This. Well put, especially the part about being divisive/partisan. It gets pretty damn old hearing it daily. And I've been around enough to know that neither "side" gives a rat's ass about anyone but themselves.

Exactly.

There's a lot of hiding behind incorporation paperwork here. Apple, Coke, and Google are Delaware based companies right? 😂

I'm no made in America purist, we own a Tiguan that was produced in Mehico. People just need to check under the hood and own that. BFGoodrich is owned by the French. Who cares?

Something similar happened in the brand ranking. Jeep was out of the top 10 and was outsold by Subaru, Tesla and GMC.

Ford did clapback kind of in my opinion. They let it be known that the whole design of the WW2 "jeep" the body and grill was a Ford design. The whole reason they have a Jeep grille was because of Ford. Its registered in the archives.
