Coming from a 2000 Jeep XJ 4.0. We’re still waiting on our 2dr Bronco but had a chance to do a size comparison with a 4dr parked side by side!

Any one else coming from an XJ to the Bronco?
Also drive a 2011 F150, joke the Bronco will be a blend of the two.

We had an XJ. 94 I think. It was... NOT a good vehicle.

Lots of electrical gremlins. Left my wife stuck several times. Ran hot; warped the head once. Wife was much happier when we sold it and got her an Expedition. That being said, about 80% of the issues were the horrible ASIN Transmission. Everyone I know says the stick-shifts were way more reliable.

Had an 84(?), hands down the best rig I've ever seen in the snow, it was like a tank. Crank windows, manual transfer case, carbed engine, very simple, had like 110 HP (Hamster power).

Don't forget that the 4.0 6 banger rear engine seal leaked so much that any driving looked like the Exxon Valdez disaster going down the road. Reliable, yes, add 1 - 2 quarts of oil every time you fill up!

Coming from a 2001 XJ if/when my badlands shows up.

4.0, 3 1/2"ish of lift, 33" tires, 5spd manual, rear lsd and front arb w/4.10, plethora of other stuff and im slightly worried the bronco isn't going to live up to the amount I love the XJ. If jeep retooled and started making them new again, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat but rust, mileage (265k), lack of modern comforts as I get older. I'm definitely ready to jump into something new. But I won't be selling the XJ until I know for sure the bronco is going to fill its shoes in all aspects.

I like how the XJs were the same wheelbase both 2 and 4 door. I would have been more interested in a 4dr Bronco if they'd done the same.

Had a 94 XJ and I was hoping the Bronco would have some similar characteristics off road. The Bronco is much better in a lot of ways. I do miss the straight front axle a little, but not all the death wobble!

2-dr XJs are awesome. 4-dr XJs are geigh. I sense a pattern with the Bronco.

Coming from a 2001 XJ with a 4 inch lift and 33’s….and the on-road comfort is much better in the Bronco. My inability to cure both wobble and death wobble were the driving factor in my ordering the Bronco. I will miss the XJ look / body lines, and fold flat rear seat though. I am gifting the XJ to my nephew after some repairs.

I still have one! It's a 97. Bought it cheap to build a trail rig. Great trail rig, but horrible on the street!

I just sold my XJ for a down payment on my Everglades. It was a fun vehicle, ran like a new car (because I upkeep my vehicles), I got $10K for it. They are going up in value if you find clean examples. But I am ready for the Bronco, I had a 21 Basesquatch and it was a far more comfortable vehicle. The suspension is lightyears better.

I have a 2001 XJ and a new 2dr OBX. Lots of things to like on both rigs. The XJ is simple, goes anywhere, super reliable (168k miles), and just old school basic. My new Bronco is a beast, full of tech, but doesn’t feel like it has enough storage room, and the folding rear seats don’t fold flat, so where do I put my dog?
Sadly, putting the XJ up for sale. Got a 77 Bronco we’re restoring now so she has to go. Gonna miss her!

If that's as clean as it looks, it should bring some real cash. I've seen some that look like that go for $17 to $22K (depending on how clean and low mileage it is). Really nice XJ

LOL- I am like the guy earlier in the thread, I’ve got about 8-9k of receipts for everything I’ve done to it. Not sure I’ll get it back but I’d drive this thing cross- country tomorrow, it’s a cream puff

Had a 93 as a trail rig. My XJ was great. It had a lot better ground clearance & a lower crawl ratio 80:1 in a 5 speed via an Atlas 5.0 & took me where ever I wanted to go
The Bronco is a bit bigger & has more storage capacity without having to put stuff on the roof , which is always a bad idea for off camber situations ;) but rides better on 37's that my XJ did on 32's. Hiem joint control arms being a major contributor to the XJ & IFS on the Bronco. There is no constant sawing of the steering wheel. I had the death wobble sorted on my XJ, so it was rarely a problem until my tires went out o balance. The XJ was reliable & I knew all the ins & outs of it & how to fix it after 17 years. The Bronco has a bazillion sensors that stays in the back of my mind .
The Bronco has almost 2x's the torque & HP that the XJ had, but the XJ was a simple easy to work on inline NA motor.
I think that I won't wheel my Bronco as hard as I did my XJ, but I will enjoy it more & I loved my XJ. Unfortunately I gave it away & it the decision haunted me for years until I reserved my Bronco.
