I’ve been meaning to buy a new jump box but am weary of cheap junk. There’s tons of options out there, anyone have some advice on models they like? I know NOCO is a good brand. I rep for Goodall at work and they make some models that can start a dozen class 8 trucks in sub-zero weather but likely overkill for what I need. Just looking for something small and reliable that will get me out of a bind.

Just look on Amazon and pick one with good reviews. I recently got one for $40 that started my '06 V6 Pathfinder 3-4 times and still had 75% of the battery left. I wouldn't waste too much on a "premium" brand.

I use this one and like it a lot. USB type-C and type-A, fast charging, and display is a plus. 2000A/74WH. 5-stars on AMZN. $80

I have bought several Gooloo brand jump starters over the last few years for myself and several family members for gifts. They work well. There always coupon codes like this:
https://9to5toys.com/2020/05/19/gooloo-1500a-car-jump-starter/
Keep an eye on that website, they usually have codes every month or so. I picked up the 4000amp late last year for around $90. Right now its just over $100 with the $45 coupon which I think is still a good deal. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QDXL1P...&pd_rd_r=f3490d50-d01b-49d0-adfd-5fb7c568c32f
The company stands behind their product too. I did have one earlier 800a one that stopped holding it’s charge and they sent me a new one. I believe I was still within the warranty period but they had goid communication and were eager to make things right.

Costco has several brands and a great return policy. I put one in each vehicle.

Type, “Cobra jump pack” in search engine. Around $80. Also will double as a wireless charger for your phone.

I have a noco gb40. I had a dead battery in my f250 (v10) started it up no problem. It has also come in handy over the last year, since covid I haven't been driving that much.

NOCO is actually a pretty terrible brand. Their strategy of "we'll just warranty replace each unit multiple times" has kept them in the game. Amazon sells their products by the bushell as very, very few people will write a review years later when their product has failed (out of warranty, as you bought it from a drop-shipper, you get to talk to NOCO directly..... It's not fun, they suck at that as well)

Batteries + Bulbs no longer carries their products in-store due to overwhelming warranty returns, they will drop-ship only because then the warranty application is on the customer to deal with (they will warn you of this in-store and suggest another brand of charger)

Anecdotally speaking, I went through 4 of their units in 2 years before Batteries + Bulbs junked it and replaced it (at their cost) with a Duracell charger that has been flawless.

At any one time i've got between 2 and 5 trickle chargers going between the garages where my cars are stored. I've never had as many issues with any brand relating to any aspect of automotive batteries as that NOCO charger.

Would I trust NOCO for a jump starter? Heck no.

Edit: I'll include this general chart to aid others in the future when they are searching for answers on this topic. You also need to pair the jumper to the vehicle. As i've got a few >7 liter V8's in the stable and some larger inline-6 engines, my needs require a larger jumper than "just buy the cheap little one", your mileage may vary.

And the decent article that the chart came from:
