Haven’t seen anybody run this yet so figured I’d share. Broaddict 1/2 rack with two sets of Yakima JayLow carriers.

Allows me to carry two kayaks while still being able to easily take all roof panels on/off as needed. Rear glass can still be opened all the way too. Really love the factory-type look. I’m 5’10” and can toss the kayaks up there without too much trouble (probably would only use with lighter, 10-12 ft kayaks though)

JUST fits under my standard 84” garage door with 33” tires and factory Sasquatch suspension.

Looking great! I've been contemplating getting that half rack instead of one of the other options out there, but there were some bad reviews. What are your thoughts on it?

I have that same half rack by Broaddict, I love it! Going to rig up a pelican slim case on it.

I don't want to rain on your parade but personally I'd be concerned about all of that upward lift taking a toll on the rear piece of the MIC top. Maybe it's because I don't have a lot of faith in the way the MIC tops were built, but I just feel like that's a lot of force being applied to something that is mainly held on by an adhesive.

The nice thing about the OEM full length racks is that they're bolted in at the front, and that helps cut down any rotational torque/force from objects that are being held up there.

That is also a slight concern of mine but quite frankly it’s worth the risk to have a roof rack that doesn’t ruin the convertible function or look like a bro-fab special like the other half racks. I’m only hauling my small kayaks that weigh less than 50 lbs each a few miles on backroads around my house. If I’m taking more than the lightweight kayaks I just hook the trailer up. Figured also fine for my small cargo basket and a few camping items every now and then.

Directions suck and all the parts are very specific as to whether they go on left or right even though they look the same. A lot of reviews say holes don’t line up but they will if you get every piece in its proper place after some trial and error. Definitely looks close to OEM and fits nice and snug… it does seem to be built well enough that I trust it. Wish it used the same triangular security wrench as OEM but not too worried about it. Until a more reputable company releases a similar option it’s the best solution for me.

Just my 2c - CURT kayak carrier.
Its on full size roof rack (zroadz), but would fit on short rack as well. Fully adjustable angle, I have a second set for the other side.

Ah, if you're only driving a few miles and it's just on back roads then I wouldn't be concerned either. I just assumed you'd be driving further distances on the freeway for some reason.

Did you put Badland wheel/tires takeoffs on your SAS? Looks good!

Thanks! It actually started life as a non-sas big bend but I added a takeoff sas suspension and takeoff badlands wheels on the cheap. So basically yes it’s the same look as a sas setup with 33s (with non sas fender flares) or I guess the same as a non sas badlands with about a 1/2” level in front.
