If you have your original two keys from purchase/delivery then this is a must do. Stumbled on this from another thread.

Special shot out to @RagnarKon for the tip on this. His video is here.

Why do this? To have spare (fully functioning OEM) key fobs at a fraction of the cost to replace a lost fob. My total out of pocket has been $110 for two OEM fobs and the key blanks.

1. Review the process for programming:
Used this reddit link for the process. It took me two tries to get it right. Third time was the charm.
Reddit Link on process/requirements for programming

2. Purchase your key fobs:
If you do not know the part #, you will want to match the buttons on your current key fob with the key fob image on the website. At least that is how I did it. Mine ended up being Part #: M2DZ15K601C for $45 a pop.

3. (OPTIONAL) Purchase your key fob blanks:
These are the key blanks I purchased from Amazon. Will get them cut next week. These should be universal regardless of fob part #. The fob will still fully work (can still start the vehicle too) without the cut key. Even if you do not get them cut it completes the fob. Looks naked without them :ROFLMAO:.

Update: OEM key is on the right with the yellow tag
Some of the comments asked about the difference between the OEM and Amazon key blanks. In terms of fitting and function. There is no difference. In terms of appearance, there is a slight
difference in the finish on the metal. It's only noticeable if you have the OEM side by side.

Would this work if I had to buy a fob and have dealer program it? I bought used and only got one, which the dealer shoulda make seller buy one or the dealer I bought the bronco from should have provided it, but didn’t. Luckily I had insurance that covered it at no charge, but had to say I lost it.

Not my dealer. My local dealer wanted $300 for fob and $100 for the key blade. Local dealer was shocked I showed him the price from an Online Ford Dealer/Parts seller (LaFontaine Wholesale Parts). He said the price at LaFontaine Wholesale Parts 'could not be correct'.

Local dealer said it would not matter if I had them program the fob or not...it would still cost $300. The key blade would be cut (included) for $100 price.

I found my Ford OEM fob for $28 shipped. I plan to buy the key blade for $10 from amazon. Cut the blade for $35 (at a local locksmith)....Total $73 versus $400 at the dealer.

Thanks to @RagnarKon for bringing this to everyone's attention!

What does your dealer charge? If he’s cheap throw his name out and get them the business

Thanks for the reminder. From the other thread that started me down this lane I had been about to pull the trigger a few days ago - at $99 for my '23 Badlands manual - but put it aside because . . . rabbits. The site you linked to has the same fob for $35! Procrastination pays, LOL. To those saying your dealer will do this for you at the same rate, hey, go for it - you are lucky to have such a magnanimous dealer. Definitely not the case for me. Thanks OP.

As long as you have TWO fobs in your position (mapped to your bronco) then it should work. The requirement that you have two fobs is intentional to prevent theft. The idea is that only the true owner would have both the main key and the spare key. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately my inquires resulted in $300+ quotes for out of pocket key replacements. From a FORD dealer. It seems to be pretty common based on what others are saying. Cheers.

Some day I hope to join the "I have no idea what it cost I just did it" club. Until then . . .

I was in line at the parts counter at my dealer yesterday and the lady ahead of me was asking about this:

Dealer wanted $150 for the fob and key, $300 to cut the key and program the fob. Lady was astounded, asked “are you sure?”, then just turned around and walked out.

Same dealer charged me $6 for a $0.76 nut.

I need to find a different dealer

This actually brings up a good point.

Some of the higher-end extended warranty and insurance plans include key fob replacements. So if you spent the money on those higher-end plans may want to check to see if key fob replacements are included in your plan.

I just picked up another fob for $38. List price is $45, but some Ford dealers who sell online have it cheaper, so it pays to shop around. I also grabbed a spare inner tie rod for $45, when list price is $70.
