Key fob went swimming

Holiday weekend I took my jet ski out with some friends and boats. About halfway thru my day I realized I had something in my pocket. It was my key fob! It had been submerged for probably a solid 2hrs. I tossed it up on the dash in the sun on my buddys boat and the damn thing worked when we got back to launch. 3 days later still no issues. Just wanted to share something positive since so many people are quick to bitch about anything and everything.

When they get dirty, you can wash them. They generally come apart in the dryer however, electronics board, battery, top and bottom covers and the rubber ”key pad”. Just snap them back together, and all clean!

You're having a better weekend than me.... I can't find my spare and I'm trading it in tomorrow! Oh well!

I did find my $1200 crazy stupid expensive perscription sunglasses wedged in the back seat tho! Not all is bad.

Ive taken fobs apart and cleaned them before. I was just very impressed that this held up. Coworker has an F150 raptor he said he thinks theyre water proof.

Update! My Fob was found about 5 mins after trade in! My mom had borrowed it when I was at the INDY 500 and forgot she left it in her car! YAY

Traded in 4dr soft top into my 2dr 2.7 etc... almost all the options I wanted when I walked in to the dealership back in 2020 when the orders opened. Sad to see it go and I am carless until my new one is shipped. Going fishing for 6 weeks hopefully it will be here when I get back!
