Saw this and was super interested... Than I saw the price tag..

$510 before tax is nuts.

But for someone who doesnt care, having the ability to open on either side is pretty sweet.
I just got mine yesterday and mounted it last night. It’s beefy! I have it opening to the driver’s side right now.

The 275 lb capacity sold me on it, not so much for bikes, but for a cargo basket.

There’s lots of great options out there. This one suited my needs and was quite happy with it, plus the warranty.
I originally wanted your setup but couldn’t find the pivot anywhere!

looks like you have v2 of the rakattach. I have v1 and it’s super difficult to open and close, personally I think there is something wrong with it. How well does yours open/close?

Yup, it’s the v2. It’s really easy to open and close. I just pull the magnetic pin, undo the lever and pull it open.

ok wow. I literally have to use all my strength to open and close it. i Raised the issue with 1up and they said it was normal but I really don’t think it is. I think I am going to follow up with them. You can see how warn down the spot where it sits is from the issue.

+1 on 1upusa rack and swing arm. The swing arm was a natural extension to clear the BD 33" spare tire. Combo is rock solid.

What swing arm is this one? I don’t recall seeing one on the 1up site when I looked a little while back.

Does not seem right to me. My v2 Rak (with loaded trays) moves easily with 1 arm push. Maybe the pivot point needs some attention?

@604Bronco where did you get the Pivot?
was thinking of getting one as well, but finding someone with stock has been tough
@talbot not sure if you're still looking, but JensonUSA has them in stock, 20% off coupon and no tax. Legit bike store (one of the largest online retailers) - I have one on the way for $320ish.

Saw this and was super interested... Than I saw the price tag..

Yeah, I didn't want to drop $500 on a swing away.

I'm also curious why you wouldn't get the 1up with rakattach. It's essentially the same price but with a more proven track record and those things are built like a tank. Sure it doesn't have lights but that would be a really easy thing to add.
OneUPUSA has a great rep, no doubt but they are so pricey. I have an NSR-4 that I wanted to try to use first before going to trays, as it is paid for. I got the Kuat b/c JensonUSA has it for $320 shipped.

The Pivot pro hitch extension should work with any other 2 inch platform style bike rack, not just Kuat brand right?

Yes, it should work with anything really - As long as it's got a 2" connection and abides by the weight limits.

I went 1up. I'm happy with it. I like that I can go driver or passenger side swing. Large size.

I like the 1up racks. I have a Kuat NV rack and have replaced many parts on it over the past 6 years. Kuat makes them very reparable and have fast parts shipping. However, I prefer the design of the 1up. It's less deep and doesn't stick out as far from the car when it's not being used. And the racks are spaced closer together so they are closer to the car when in use. Also it's basically 100% aluminum and there's very little to corrode. Both 1up and Kuat make good products. But my next rack (when I can no longer repair the Kuat) will be a 1up. FYI I love my Kuat roof ski rack.
