I'm looking for the cheap way out. The stock tires are puny, but I don't want to shell out for a lift right away. I went to a tire spot and they said they need to physically see the rim and the car to determine what size tires will fit.

Any chance I can get 35s? bigger???

Probably can't get 35's with the factory offsets on the 16" wheel.

The narrow width of the 16" steelies may limit what size tire you can mount. TireRack lists several brands of 315/75 R-16s which claim to be 34.6" OD.

I would be very surprised if you got 35" to fit.
But 33" works for sure with no lift or mods required

Those look dope. I never thought about getting used rims, but some googleing shows there is quite the market for them. I can definitely find some bigger rims on the cheap that will fit 35s.

Thanks for the inspiration.

285/75R16 are a prefect fit for the base with steelies. Unfortunately the only options are D or E rated. From the D list I’d probably go with the Nitto. Stock Badlands takeoffs would be prefect, C load range 285/70R17 on a decent looking rim.

33’s on 17’s is what I’m going for on my Base when it gets in next month. Figured I’d change out the steelies, not my style.

What do you mean by "crash bar"? Aren't you worried about losing a "crash bar"? Seems important.

285/75/16 Dynapro's on the stock steelies. No problems at all, and the gearing seems to be a better match for the taller tires. Rides fine, handles fine, no loss of fuel economy. Corrected the speedo with forscan.

I called Discount Tire and the guy was emphatic that the 285/75/16's won't work with the base steelies...wtf?

The specs call for 7.5" wide and the base steelies are 7". You might have to call around a bit. I used a local Indie to do mine.
