I couldn’t bring myself to overpay for a simple light bar so Lasfit seem to be a decent choice so that’s what I went with.
I‘ve seen a couple of these light bars mounted on bumpers and wasn’t sold on the result. So I adapted the Lasfit 32” single row light bar to fit the modular bumper as close and tight as I could mount it.
This is completely out of the way of the camera on my badlands, I can still see the edge of the front bumper and it doesn’t touch the body trim below the grill.
Here is what I modified. The light bar came with 2 ways to mount, side mount and rear mount. The rear mounts can be used but you have to turn them backwards and that makes the light bar stick out in front of the bumper and does interfere with the camera. Wiring was a snap, I got the harness with the bar and cut off the switch that came with it and hooked the red wire up to AUX switch 3.
So I modified the side mounts. Basically cut the top off and mounted them utilizing the center most bolts on the modular bumper.
Here you can see how they are oriented on the bumper.
The bronco bolt in the bumper are very close to the bottom of the light housing so I put a little piece of foam tape to make sure they didn’t rub. On the back side, I swapped out the hardware that came with the bar to utilize a hex head because I couldn’t tighten the Allen bolt that came with the bar. 10mm wrench fit back there with no problem.
It is very close to the trim but it does NOT touch.
It’s not perfectly centered because of the space to put the nuts in the back rail are towards one side and it right where I would want it to be in order to be perfectly centered. Straight forward and simple, I think it turned out decent.
Also, an interesting nugget, while playing with this I noticed the bumper IS PREWIRED for fog lights. I didn’t know that prior to seeing the wires today on both sides.
