Hello…

I have a raptor. I wanted to upgrade my wheels and tires.

My goal was to keep the same tire size and have bigger rims.

When I stopped by the shop I noticed that the actual wheel is “coming” out a little outside or the fender.

I am new at this so please be patient. But what did I do wrong here? As we know the raptor is a wide car with wide fenders. Why are the wheels “sticking out” I am assuming there is not much I can do?

Yes your new wheels sound like they have a 0 or negative offset. If you can share the link we can help more. The stock wheels have a +34 offset. Switching to a new wheel with less offset pushes the wheel away from the vehicle more. For instance wheels with a +18 would be 16mm more outboard (34-18). If you went with a 0 offset then they would be 34mm more outboard. This is assuming you kept the same width of wheel. As I said we would need a link or more specs for the wheel to see how far out it is. My current wheels are 17x9 +18 offset, its 22.4mm more outward(poke). My wheels are nearly flush with the fender but the tires extend past the fender a bit.

Here is a good site to visualize if you know your wheels specs. Stock is 17x8.5 +34.

https://www.willtheyfit.com/index.p...t2=70&wheel_size=17&wheel_width=8.5&offset2=0

Is poking past the fender bad? Not necessarily and many folks do it. It personal style and depends on how hard you plan to flex your vehicle if you go off-road. Be aware though, tires throw rocks, rocks damage paint, get some mudflaps :)

Providing pics or details of your wheels is needed for more help or advice. There is no cure for poke but if you like the looks you can make it functional and reduce paint damage from rocks

This makes sense.

The wheels are 20 Vossen hf6-4
The tires are nitto ridge grapplers 37

I am not exactly sure what the exact numbers are besides this.

But I guess the bottom line is that there isn’t much i can do now.

Appreciate the feedback

They are probably a 20x10 -12. They poke a bit but the Ridge Grapplers throw much less rocks. I would pobably get some RokBlokz XL Mudflaps. I just installed some and am happy with them. I also lifted my vehicle and installed 39" tires.

The White looks good. I have Black and live in the desert but they were few and far between in Q4 2022.

Yep I was an audio installer while in college so I did it right. Lots of tessa tape and wrapping/hiding wires. Also did sound deadening on the floors and doors. PlugnPlaykits offers a lot of pre-wrapped piggyback wiring as well.

Besides the ppf, lift, and tires I did everything myself!

Forscan is pretty easy but I haven't done anything too challenging yet. Mostly just unticking or ticking some boxes. Lots of videos on Youtube. I think 1Five1 Garage and Eville has good videos for simple things.

The tube doors look awesome! I ordered a black one too, and was thinking about getting them down the road. Saw how they looked on yours and immediately messaged my sales rep to see if I can get them added to my order.

Your Raptor looks incredible. 2 questions with those wheels/tires? Do you have a front shot of the truck to see how far out the tires go from the wheel well? I'm looking for a wider stance vs. factory. Also did you mount one of these to the back? If so does it fit below the factory spec 3rd brake light?

Yes it fits on the 3rd brake light. As far as the wheel it is mostly inline with the fenders. It’s a 17x9 +18 vs the stock 17x8.5 +34. Here is a pic but you can also check willtheyfit website to get a visual.
