My current car. '67 Camaro, probably gets 8 mpg. Before that I had a Wrangler and before that a '53 Chevy 5300. The Bronco might get me the highest MPG I've had in the last 10-15 years.
Good old 53' Chevy 5300, I assume you had the original straight six 235 or had it been upgraded?

Things get a little complicated when dealing with forced induction engines because lower RPM doesn't necessarily equate to less fuel used. If ratio is the only thing changing then I don't think there will be a huge difference in power or MPG. If 4.7 gets you the locker then I'd do that! If 4.7 means adding the sasquatch package then performance and MPG will decrease due to tire mass and higher ride height.

Original straight 6. 3 speed on the column.
I used the 53 235, bell housing and a 4 on the floor in my 38 Chevy pickup restomod. They were bolt in simplicity, with a granny gear, added a GMC rear end and custom driveline. And for the Ford guys, I used a Ford master cylinder.

Excuse me, the incoming Vice Chancellor in Charge of Virtue Signaling would like to have a word with you.

You’re going to be assigned to a re-education camp, where you’ll write, “I love me a Prius” on the chalkboard a million times, like Bart Simpson.

a 5% gearing difference is going to make zero measurable difference in fuel economy. It is also going to make a zero measurable difference in acceleration and top end in the real world. You literally will not be able to measure the difference with the inaccuracies of when a gas pump clicks off after filling the tank.

People select 4.7 so they can stick on giant tires, now or down the line.
Simple.
Yes all the other technical stuff is true and helpful to know about.
But for practical purposes, thats the main reason.

I was wondering event this too and am having a tough time deciding. If I am NEVER gonna off-road is there any benefit to the Sasquatch package At all?

I see you are Badlands, so no, unless you want 35 inch tires

Installing a hand throttle in my XJ was the best mod outside of my Atlas 5.0 which put me at 80:1. It's hard to be smooth in a manual when your foot is bouncing ;)
I always installed an extra (stiffer) throttle spring to stop the bouncing foot issue when crawling off road.

If you are never going to go off road there is no need for the Badlands or Black Diamond, much less Sasquatch, unless you want mid or higher with a manual, or MGV. The extra weight of the bumpers and skid plates puts a dent in the mileage. Non-35" tires of the non-Squatch will give you better acceleration, braking, and cornering on-road. Narrower tires are also better in the winter on road.
