the VIN gives a actual number of produced vehicles for a model year. that number is the last 6 characters of the VIN. a way we can begin to figure out what the actual production numbers are would be to post the last six numbers of the VIN. if we are seeing numbers like XXX123, we know at least 123 units have been produced. if you have a VIN assigned to your build and your number is XXX125, you know you should be getting good news soon.... lets see what we can figure out here.

No matter what we find out here, there’s only one appropriate answer - Not enough :(

This is not true at all. There is no guarantee of sequential issuing of vin numbers, and given that they’re assigned well before production, no relation to production order.

On the first week of scheduling, VINs we’re given out as low as 000xx and as high as 68xxx (last 5 digits).

someone posted the definitive number that had been produced by EoQ2 and it was under 6000.

someone posted the definitive number that had been produced by EoQ2 and it was under 6000.
but it is an idea of how many have been produced. the people assigned the 68XXX numbers are probably waiting on a 2022 model. whereas the FE listed on ebay has a XXX394. so, if the factory has produced close to 400 of of this model

Again, incorrect. People have taken delivery of VINs in the 6xxxx range.

VINs aren’t even assigned until scheduled to be built, and no MY22s are being scheduled (painfully obvious but figured I’d point it out). So no, those 68xxx folks are not 22 models.

Your theory of sequential VINs is just, not how it works. At all.

Numerical Sequence Number
It’s up to the manufacturer how they assign these numbers. It is not required that they have any relation to VIN assignment order, build order, or delivery order.

many manufacturers these days specifically try to NOT sequence them chronologically so as to avoid analysts being able to strongly reason about production numbers before quarterly results are reported.

None of that states they are assigned in numerical order. It states a numerical sequence number meaning a sequence of numbers.

My 70035 was in the second wave of VINs and is scheduled for next month. They most certainly will not build 70k before then.

They’re producing and delivering in random order. 40’s 60’s 70’s. 75000’s were delivered to Las Vegas last week.

Highest VIN I found on Ebay so far. 81591, but has not been built yet, but has VIN assigned.
