What percentage of the trip, roughly, do you think was dirt vs pavement?

I think I have a new trip on my bucket list! Thanks for posting. (y) :)

Ha! I get your comment, however I was glad to see they did it and didn't have to camp. I'm getting older and lazier.

Butte to Helena area -
A bit of a long day. Stopped and talked to quite a few bikers. Today was more mountainous, but the roads were good for the most part and we met more interesting bikers. The scenery was backcountry spectacular. Heard on the trail, “oh just another beautiful meadow and lake”. Also, “they’re lost, they’re from California” in reference to a black Porsche roaming the back roads. The pictures tell the story of today. We did see a bear, but couldn’t get picture. Some rain, slow rocky roads with mud puddles.

Helena to Whitefish - A real mix, slow rocky climbs and descents, medium speed rocky roads, nice tarmac, and fun sweeping dirt roads (4x4 sports car roads).
No weather or construction issues.

Whitefish to the Canadian border. We made it! We were also lucky. They closed road 114 today due to fire and maintenance. We were probably last ones through. No closure sign where we went in on the east side, and we saw a couple of bicyclists coming the other way. But when we got to the paved road to Canada there was a barrier that was just put up. It would have been a 50 mile backtrack if the closed sign had been up on our side.
Views were spectacular, even in areas where there had been fire.

Yeah, not gonna lie, I'd sign up for a group drive like this with no camping.. Or minimal camping..

200 miles was the longest run without a gas station. I was getting 20 mpg average and had a 400 mile range, so no problems.
This is my only regret getting the 2 door.
I mean, who would've known they would chop the tank by 30% when they chopped a third of the car off?

Living vicariously through your trip ATM. Looks awesome. I'm planning something for winter to go up the Pacific coast, over to Banff, and back down through MOAB and back to sunny LA. But only if my RTT is installed by then.
