Yes sir. The underside is a different animal for sure.We use Rage. I need to talk to Curt and see if he sanded prior to promoter then just built up a few layers of fill or what exactly they did. I know my BS manger said nothing stuck to the under side of the flare which may have something to do with the mold release agent. The paint to match feel like a different type of plastic and turned out fine, stock ones, not so much.
Probably release agent.
The best way I've found to get that stuff off is wash them in as hot water as you can, then use alcohol or Acetone (be careful, it is hot and can soften thinner plastics) with some powdered dish soap (contains alkali) mixed in as a scrub.
Rinse clean, let dry completely in the sun.
Wipe with a wax and grease remover, sand, wipe again with wax and grease remover, tack off, spray your adhesion promoter, proceed onwards.
The key is heat, solvent, and alkali.
