I've been working on retrofitting non-Flex features to my Flex, including a front parking camera. It's 99% complete except for one simple thing:
I don't know what can-bus message tells the APIM to display the camera view while in drive.
I can get the camera to appear by sending a fake Reverse signal while at a complete stop, but there's another message that will let me trigger it while slowly pulling forward in Drive. This message originates from the Front Control Interface Module B -- the Flex's front controls obviously don't have a Camera button.

Between bitter colds, Covid, civil unrest, etc... it's kind of hard to walk up to a random stranger in a parking lot and ask "Hey, can I hook these wires up to your car's diagnostic port? I promise I'm not trying to steal your car". Unfortunately the Explorer forums couldn't help me either. There's no rideshare/Turo program here, rental companies won't let you specify an exact model, and after I was rear-ended, my rental was a Grand Caravan. Not having any luck getting access to a Ford with front cameras.

So by chance, is there anybody here with a front-camera-equipped Ford that uses Arduinos or any other means of logging can-bus messages? Ideally we'd end up with two logs -- one where you aren't pressing anything, and one where you repeatedly trigger the front camera view. Some shenanigans in Excel will tell me which messages are important.

It's funny/sad that I've had far more luck retrofitting lane-keeping assistance than a simple front camera.
