I’ve been searching for a rugged single-axle overlander trailer that has the following features:

- aluminum framed trailer with “overlander tires and suspension”
- space to haul 2 dirt bikes and/or 1 dirt bike and 2 fat-tire ebikes
- drop-down loading ramp
- overhead rack with pop-up tent
- pull-out campstove kitchen with storage
- parasol-type awning
- storage cages for fuel cans, water, propane etc.

I have seen some images of this type of trailer, but they seem to be unique to Australia as I haven’t found any in Canada or the US.

I’m ok fabricating my own as a project, but I’d like to have some plans to start from rather than trial-and-erroring everything.

Please weigh in with thoughts or suggestions if you have them. Thanks!

I have a similar requirement, although in my case I'm hauling snowmobiles/ATVs and not dirt bikes.

I couldn't find one that wasn't insanely expensive, so I've decided to buy just a generic ATV trailer and modify it. In my case, the starting point is this trailer from High Country.

At the moment, that project is on pause because the cost to get the aluminum I need right now is insanely high, and to be perfectly honest my wallet can't handle my TIG welding skills (or lack thereof). Should my Bronco get scheduled I may abandon the aluminum and switch to steel since I have piles of scrap steel around, but trying to keep it light.

That’s one I haven’t seen before. Do you have experience with it.

Thanks

those wheels look awfully tiny for any kind of off road use. the jumping jack isnt aluminum, but i had a 6x8 when i lived in alaska and it was pretty awesome. roughly 10k or about 6 if you can find them used

https://www.jumpingjacktrailers.com/ (1200lbs)

Some other options are the Intech Flyer Explore. All aluminum frame, with a massive slide out kitchen. you can put a RTT on top, but it has a tilt out sleep system. 20k msrp, but i see dealers selling them about 18 near me, and used i saw one for 14.

I'm in the same boat as OP. I do at least 1 -2 long adventure rides per year and bought the Bronco to do those sorts of rides with the family since we can't all fit on my Africa Twin. I would like a smaller trailer to base camp out of to do moto rides with a couple of buddies, have a nice place to chill in for track days and use it to haul stuff that can't fit in the Bronco. As suggested above, InTech comes the closest with the flyer and explore but the prices are high for what you get. I'd pay $20k if you could squeeze a shower in it and still fit two enduro bikes.

Something like these would be great in concept: A deck for the bikes, the overhead pop-up tent, an awning, storage racks, possibly a slide-out kitchen. The frame needs to be rugged for 4x4 trailering, with an articulating hitch for flex.

I find images for trailers made in the UK and Australia, but not so many in N. America. I would be surprised if no one here is not making something that meets the need.
