Looking into adding a heated steering wheel.

As the title says I’m just starting this process and doing some research. Has anyone with the lux package removed the steering column covers or willing to take them off? At a minimum take a picture through the opening on bottom the Column. Looking for a pic with this angle. I took it without removing anything I’m trying to see if the the lux package has a plug I the right side connector that is empty on mine.

If you flip down the tilt wheel lever and stick a phone up in there to take a picture. It should get something similar to the photo I posted nothing needs to be removed. I really need a unicorn Lux package soft top without Prep kit. But any Lux package photos would help.

You can look up any as-built data that you need on https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt
If you find a similar vehicle for sale online, just use that vin and you can get all the codes you need.
Or I can send you mine. I have a 22 2 door WT with lux though, so hardtop only.

After sept ‘21 build date I believe all have the prep package. I happen to have an early build. So trying to find a pre Sept. ‘21 for sale might be a challenge but it’s a great idea I’ll give it a go. The more info the better imo.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words but in this case...

Where did you get the wheel? Was all the wiring in place? Did you just have to plug it in? Was it hard wiring in the button? Did the airbag go off and spill your latte? Are you going to sell the old wheel on eBay?

Haha,
No latte muddy floor liners from having to much fun,
story short used wheel traded with a guy who only wanted the leather wrapped and was not going to persue the heated function.
nope wiring is not present, will need a new sccm, clockspring and pig tail ran, then forscan and FDRS likely will be needed. Undetermined if I actually need new HVAC controls as I only want it to work with the remote start. It’s going to be a long road to the finish line.

Just putting it out there: the factory heated wheel stinks. Really disappointing. Maybe try the aftermarket route? Either way the clock spring is your biggest hurdle I’m guessing.
