I purchased the dome light and the 4 side lights a few days ago. Worked great for almost 24 hours then the side lights started acting up. Not coming on, not going off, etc. Checked all the connections but the issue remained. Shame because I really liked the illumination. I have returned the side lights. So far the dome is working as advertised and even without the side lights, there is a a lot more light when compared to the oem dome.

Any update on the new version? I have the original and just drove at night and couldn’t get the lights to turn off on the highway. Super annoying.

I don't suppose anyone has a video of a 2-door install of the 4 interior side light kit?

The 4-door videos and instructions don't match the 2-door design of the rear side airbag covers, and how they integrate with the rear cover. The 4-door videos show users removing easily the rear side air bag covers, which are designed differently on the 2-door.

Below is a photo (found online) of a 4-door rear side airbag cover, and you will notice the arrow shows where the cover ends, making it easy to remove. But on the 2-door, the cover does not end there, and instead is integrated around the rear cover. So it ain't getting removed like the 4-door.

On the 2-door, the cover portion to the right of the arrow, is all one piece with the removed cover portion left of the arrow.

Another 4-door photo, showing where the rear side cover ends. The 2-door cover does not end there, it's all one piece.

Just like you have to pry the plastic trim for the center beam, you can probably pry the airbag cover back after removing whatever screw is.in the front. Just make sure that you route the wire above the airbag so it does not interfere with deployment. There is enough gap behind the airbag they you can tuck the wires there. It is a good idea to disconnect the battery when working around the airbags.

I have the same problem. The side lights come on when the doors open, good. They'll go off several seconds after I'm driving, as they should, but only in daylight! At night they stay on! Very annoying, but at least they shut off after I shut the car off. Right now I have them disconnected.
@Mabett , any thoughts on this? Should I return them? I got them through Amazon, and the return option has probably expired.

See if it changes if you leave the dashboard backlight at %100

Same for me on the side lights. On sometimes, off sometimes, not turning on others, not shutting off others..
I gave up and just removed them. Outside of return window, so they're sitting in the junk parts drawer now. Gotta find some other lighting solution.

Mabett will replace outside the return window but you need to send him a video and your Amazon order number. I just put my video on Gdrive and sent him a link via DM. As others have said make sure your dashboard brightness is turned all the way up.

:(
I kind of don't want to go through the hassle of re-installing them.
My oem overhead light in the rear will NOT come out when you pull on it, so I end up having to take off that whole plastic piece and risk breaking more tabs.
Oh well.
