If you don't have a magsafe case and really don't wanna spend the money on a new special case. Do what I did and use these rings.

Amazon.com: ESR HaloLock Universal MagSafe Ring, Magnetic Wireless Charging Conversion Kit, MagSafe Sticker, Compatible with iPhone 13/13 Pro/13 mini/13 Pro Max/12, Galaxy S21 etc, 2 Pack, Black and Silver : Cell Phones & Accessories

It comes in a 2-pack and sticks to the outside of your case. It comes with a template to mitigate misplacement of the ring. and it works quite well.

i wonder if sticking on of these on my rubber mat would make lining things up easier.

What gauge wire did you run from your PnP 12v to your CoolGear power supply?

I used 14 because that’s what I had on hand. Total overkill. The PnP and factory wiring is much higher gauge, probably 18.

I had one of those arms mounted to the dash accessory point for about one trip to work. Hated it up there, I don’t need my phone right in my face at all times, and it just looked goofy. Went on the hunt for a more realistic mounting point for my needs, and finally come up with a finished product I love. All parts listed at end of post. Shop manual for removing console also attached.

Started with this clamp mount from Vortex signs. Clamps perfect to the console grab handle and matches my FE black/gray.

They have two phone mount options for this one. I went with the MagSafe, have to supply your own apple charger.

It worked great. If you like the looks of this you can stop here. But I didn’t like the big white charger and the way the cable was laying around. And as you can see in pic, the Bronco gave an error message every startup. On the hunt I went for a better magsafe charger solution and wire concealment.

I came up with this charger from Spiegel. Looks better, and the wire connects in the back, making it easier to hide away.

The spiegel uses a proprietary ball so I had to improvise, and connect a 17mm ball socket to it so it would connect to the Vortex ball mount. Off to the wife’s craft room and a quick mix of 2 part epoxy and I was in business.

To power the charger, and hide the wire away, I installed a USB power source under the center console.

Powered the power source from the 12v socket in the console box using a plug and play adapter.

Power source mounted inside console. Used 3M tape and mounted through a screw on the grab handle mounting plate. It’s not going anywhere.

Plug and Play adapter powering power source. The rear part of center console pulls right off to expose the connector. Easy brezzy.

Ran the wiring neatly down the grab handle and into the console.

Finished product. Works great. Doesn't budge.

Doesn't interfere with precious cup holder space.

Dang, you could add a charging port for a Macbook Pro with that charger.

So I got the MagSafe ring 2 pack today. I stick one on the underside and secured it with VHB tape (and leveled it out with two side pieces). I put the other ring on top of the rubber mat. This works with the built-in factory wireless charger! I was able to get rid of the third party charger and the USB C cable.

The underside magnet by itself isn’t quite strong enough to hold onto my phone. It’s possible that only the top magnet is needed.

Nice job! We need more write-ups of this quality. I tried using a Belkin AC vent mount and destroyed the vent flaps.
I did that to my vent flaps due to the vent mount too! Dang it!
