Looking to rid myself of my 6.0 and replace it with a FSB or OBS F-150/F-250. either 302/351W or 7.3.

I used to buy these things for 1500-2000 dollars 20 years ago. now, If it drives, it starts at 6k and can be up to 20k for a really good one. I've seen FSBs at near 30k, STOCK. for an ext cab f-250 with 7.3 even if it doesn't drive it starts at near 10k.

Got my eye on a few FSBs, '90/'91/'96, 1 is a 302, the other two are 351, including a 35th anniversary edition, and the 96 has an SAS. tough choices, and expensive as hell for a 25 year old 'truck'. And it has been a rough year so I can't just jump on spending 7-8k to maybe inherit someone else's issues.

My dad still daily drives his 2003 7.3 F350. It's got somewhere around 300k on it. We have a gentleman's agreement between him, myself, and my brother, that if he ever gets a new truck (which is going to happen soon since they're retiring to tour the country via 5th wheel) that we get first dibs on buying it.

In my area, a clean-ish 7.3 is still going for $14k+

ended up with an 86 331 stroker truck, in decent condition, driveable, for the price.
