That blue area above the armrest - is that painted metal? Because, as nice as it looks, it’s going to cause frostbite to people in cold climates, or burns to folks like me who live where the exterior of a car gets to 150°F in the summer.

From one of the video links posted in another thread that is apparently the exposed door. That’s all we really know is the one guys word for it. It’s also only on the 2-door.

The glass runs behind it. I’m sure there is insulation in there too. Ford engineering has yet to let us down on Bronco. Other parts of Ford...

Youth is a funny thing. Most of the vehicles I grew up with were metal with no plastic except the armrest.

It’ll be fine. It might feel colder than the plastic just because it’s metal, but it’s not going to get insanely cold. I couldn’t tell you from experience about heat, but I doubt it’s an issue. Touching any of the metal on the doors in my JK when it’s -40 outside is fine.

There’s also another thread on this somewhere.

Yes. In the pictures of the body shells you can clearly see it’s part of the inner door skin.

But yes, to echo everyone else, it’s on the inside of the window and insulation and mechanicals etc etc etc.

Nothing to worry about.
