My wife and I Traveled to Merus this past Sunday and stayed until Wednesday. We stayed in the Ranch House cabin which was perfect for two people. A third person could have slept on the couch. The facilities were great and the staff was friendly and informative. Be advised, the park closes at 5:30 and they lock the gate and you have to have the code to get back in. The nearest town (15 minutes away) is Claude. There is a small grocery store and a few restaurants. We ate at Lupita's and The Burrow. Both were excellent.
We spent Sunday afternoon on Park road West and then to the East rise, back to Merus 101 to the Drop in and then back up Landry's Landing. Monday was a full day as we spent all day on the remaining green trails. We went on blue trails where they ran alongside or intersected with green. I have 33's and Eibach coilovers, so pretty much stock and never had a single hiccup on any of the trails we did. A bone stock base can do all of the greens no problem IMO.
We had a great time and I would love to go back with a group and do some harder trails. The park is a 7 1/2 hour drive from our house so I was not prepared to do anything too challenging and break a tie rod or something.
We found some mud on the trail to "The Meadows."
