With the 2022 order conversions hopefully coming soon, I would like to here from those insiders thoughts on the hardtop constraint. With MIC 2.0 seemingly coming online rather quickly do we still feel like it will be a constraint moving forward. I had read that it is still better to do the soft top but as we are getting closer to conversion time, does anyone think that has changed?

I ordered a WildTrak which, for 2021, did not give a soft top option, but does for 2022

Going to stick with the soft top for now, let these MIC 2.0 be out in the wild a bit to see how they deal with outside weather events.

I'd guess it will be what 21 was supposed to be. MIC will be a constraint, but not a non-availability. I think it was predicted to be 80% production and 95% demand before scheduling started, so that's roughly what I expect for 22 startup. Perhaps demand will drop slightly as many have accepted switching to soft tops and perhaps production could be gaining, but thats all speculation.

I think so. I think constraints will continue for the next year, I’m just waiting for them to announce their next big production issue that will further delay my build. I’m ordering a soft top and planning on buying a hard top later should I want it, I want mine built before they run of chips or whatever is next.

My hope is, that ordering the hard top would not severely lengthen my wait time. I really like the way new best top soft top looks with the sloped back, so I would rather buy a soft top later than the more expensive hard top later. Don't stop comments, I am just trying to prepare.

It will continue to be a constraint until the new top facilities are up and running.

Why wait on a HT that has a history of issues and some still unresolved when there are already aftermarket solutions coming soon? There's a company (forgot name) that has 4dr HT being introduced this year and a 2dr early next year.

Go soft top, relax, and make the change with better aftermarket solutions.
