MIC owners, what becomes of your current top?

For those of you that have taken delivery of your Broncos with the original MIC tops, when your replacement tops comes in, do you have the option of keeping the old one as well? I’m thinking probably not, as Ford likely doesn’t want them out in the wild.

But if that is an option, I’m sure there are several of us who switched to soft tops that would buy your old top. Personally, I wouldn’t care about the “cosmetic” issues if I could get one of these tops at a reasonable price so that I had a hard top for the few months a year in the winter.

when they recalled the firestone tires on my 2000 Ranger they hole sawed big holes in the side walls in my presence lol.

I'm still angry that I never got reimbursed for the Firestones on my 98 Ranger that delaminated in under 1000 miles.

But I agree, I fully expect that the dealership will be required to certify that the old top has been suitably destroyed. Probably chop it up with a circular saw.

Correct- dealer installs new top as service appointment, similar to a recall. Old top returned to Ford/Webasto for destruction/repurposing.

I wonder if you could just take your Bronco in with no top on it to get it “replaced” and keep it. Doubt it but that could be a way.
