Anyone else have their MIC top leaking? I had my 2 Door Black Diamond parked in the rain all day today. I came out to water leaking in through the middle seem of my hard top into the electronics above the rear view mirror. I have had no issues driving in a rain storm yet.

Anyone else experience this?

Just throw the whole thing away. And to think I almost regretted changing to a soft top. Those days are history.

Oh and remember that it’s only a “cosmetic” issue according to Ford. The leaking is done purposely to test the durability of the drain plugs and MGV seats.

I think ford should spring for free bestops for anyone with a hard top until the new hard tops are avaible. I do t have much faith in the new tops when there ready either

My local dealership was less than concerned. Didn't even step outside to look at it.

LOL.

Not at you.. At Ford. This is abysmal. They need to own up to the fact that its not just cosmetic - unless shorted wires and corroded contacts are 'cosmetic' now.

Im not worried about the dash, those buttons are rubberized. Pretty sure that top console with the microphones etc isn't meant to be be working as a water filtration device.

The leak could be coming from anywhere since there are potential channels for the water to run in, but hopefully its not hard to trace back to the source.

You are going to like the soft top.

They ARE replacing them….

but I agree, they need to drop the cosmetic facade.

well written posts like yours should always @Ford Motor Company
Yeah they’ve literally stopped production of all MIC tops to fix these issues… and OP is gunna get a new one from ford.

Not much to say here, it should honestly be expected that any MIC tops that got out to the public are gunna leak/look like shit etc, there’s a reason why they’re completely retooling the MIC design and build process.

I have no reason to think this issue won’t be fixed the next time around

Great concept, but it didn't work in my JEEP either. Last one was soft top and it was "water tight" - alas compared to the hard top "Freedom" top. Can someone say "t-top"?

Does this mean the freedom top leaked?

My first JEEP was a hard top (2 door JK) - leaked constantly as in this one - right over the electronics and dash. Second Rubicon was a soft top - best JEEP I owned next to my '48 Willys - but it doesn't have a top. LOL
