MIC top fix idea ? Rubber edging material

I was wondering if anyone has thought to put rubber edging material and some silicone caulk on the edges of the mic top.
Something like this - maybe spread some silicone and then put this edge on.

I guess it would depend on the actual color of the edging. It may look like a sore thumb sticking out against the MIC color. But, if some industrious company could match the MIC color I would think they could make some money.

It's going to looks awful but could be a step up from raw cardboard.

The only real solution is that new tooling that seals the edges correctly.

Why would they invest in new tooling when they already have a forum full of tools willing to buy a broken vehicle?

I plan on using this stuff to repair my own MIC top. JK! My 2-dr OBX with MIC, Lux and Tow is already going to be a rarity since AMB will not be available in 2022.

Hot glue gun with dark grey or black sticks.

Force that goo in. Once it cools, a sharp blade to cut it flush with the edge.

Man, maybe I should apply for an engineering position at webasco.
