update: have taken it to a friend who is a mechanic and the two options ford will have are "keeping my car for a while for a fix or ripping it off or you figuring out how to deal with it"

I was just thinking about that... It seems that a wave washer could help that out without "popping", but who knows, I'm still waiting for mine.I hope it works. If you find that a washer is needed, the flat washer could be swapped for a wave washer. That would put some outward pressure on the latch.

Electric tape will do the deed. All 8 of mine are now wrapped, the stupid back ones started the tap so I said fuck this and wrapped everyone.I owe you guys an update on this. At some point I started getting a few random pops, not like it was, but not silent. So I read some other threads and ended up putting 2 wraps of electrical tape around the locating pin. Its been silent for months now.
