Hey all,

I just watched a recent YouTube video from GenRight Off-Road, and Mickey Thompson gave an exciting sneak peek of their upcoming wheel designs! One standout is the new Canyon wheel, which will be available in polished aluminum and bronze faux-beadlock options, specifically in the 6G Bronco 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern.

I know many of us have been waiting for a company to bring back that classic Ansen/Indy-style slot mag wheel that works with our Broncos, and it looks like Mickey Thompson has stepped up to the plate!

Personally, Iā€™m looking to complete the look of my Race Red Heritage 2-Door Bronco with a set of polished aluminum Canyon 17x9 wheels with a 0 offset.

What do you all think? Who else is interested in Mickey Thompson's new wheels for their Broncos? Which would you chooseā€”polished aluminum or bronze?

Can you post up the YouTube link? I'd be interested depending on the offset and cost.

Here is the link to the video:

The main subject of the video is tires, but the sneak peak on the wheels starts at about 57.00 minute mark.

The video doesn't specifically cover cost and backspacing, but I have reached out to Mickey Thompson and they have indicated they plan to offer the 17x9, 6X5.5 in two offsets, 0-offset and -12

Some additional internet sleuthing found https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtw-226100423 which appear to be about $285ish per wheel.

Woohoo, just in time as I was looking at steelies that would work with hub caps I have.
Personally I like the polished aluminum slots.

Looks like it will be 0 offset and around $300.
Seems like they had you in mind Jim. The polished option would really complete your Stroppe Baja Bronco look!

Thanks! That's a 1.69291" poke from the sasquatch +30 offset.

Hard choice between these in polished or a 951MC from Raceline.
-12 for the win on either, even more preferred for that old school deeper dish look.

I could be in the market for some "jelly bean" wheels if they were true beadlocks.
One of the questions asked during the video was ā€œis Mickey Thompson going to be offering real bead lock wheelsā€ (timestamp 1 hour 20 seconds)the answer was ā€œI guess youā€™ll have to go to the SEMA show or follow our social mediaā€

So you might be in luck.

Iā€™m going to SEMA this year so Iā€™ll share what I hear!

I just hand mounted a set of big tires on my beadlocks this past weekend for my crawler TJ (4 hours or work in the garage) so Iā€™m beadlocked out for a while. Happy to let the tire machine do the job for the Bronco šŸ˜

You did that 4 hours?? That job would take me all weekend and at least a case of beer

Close, but still not quite right..

I realize that wheels with lots of open space into the wheel well and rotor/caliper is more current wheel design, but those "Slots " are just way to big for my tastes, makes the wheel look more like a spoked design than a slotted mag.
