My wife and I road tripped down to Moab from WA State over Thanksgiving and spent 5 amazing days there. This was our first time visiting with our Bronco. and we drove a variety of trails. (Last year we attended the Offroadeo and knew we had to return.) We stayed at the Gonzo Inn downtown and were impressed by the hospitality - such a charming place. Moab and the surrounding area is just beautiful with jaw dropping scenery around every turn. I took waay too many photos but here are some of my favorites.

Trails we ran:
Long Canyon
Fins and Things
Poison Spider (only partly due to rain/ mud)
Hurrah Pass to Chicken Corners
Lockhart Basin (first mile)
Top of the World (hiked last .7 mi due to snow & ice)
Dome Plateau (to overlook)
Hell's Revenge

Enjoy!

I’ve been watching Off-Rodeo videos, trying to decide which one I was gonna sign up for if any as the instruction seems pretty standard (not that I would not learn something). I have decide Moab just for the beauty alone, with a few days either side to trail on our own. Your pics are nice!

You won't be disappointed in Moab. Last year, we flew in on a Thursday and rented a jeep at the airport and stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge. Offroadeo'd Friday on Dome Plateau, Saturday we visited Arches then ran Potash Rd to Shafer Switchbacks to Dead Horse State Park and Long Canyon, then Onion Creek and Eye of the Whale on Sunday before flying out. We packed a lot in to only a few days but we saw some amazing scenery.

Just when I think I've finally gotten rid of all that red Utah dirt in my Bronco I go back and fill my Bronco back up. I never get tired of that view.
Glad you had a good time @Scott M

I have the Maryville one about 2 hours from me here in Tennessee. I'm thinking about doing it.

Love our Bronco! It didn't skip a beat even after 2500 miles round trip, 90mph on the freeway, climbing/descending slickrock, 60mph on dirt roads, and lots of sand and mud 👍

It was so muddy out to Hurrah Pass/Chicken Corners but so, so worth it!

Same here! I love the trees of the Northwest but there is something about those expansive Utah veiws that really stirs the soul. We are thinking of making it a yearly trip. Moab is the perfect spot to play with your new toy.

Thanks for the great pics. I’m jelly!! I have a 2.7 Black Diamond on 35s with a Ford Performce coil kit, and winch. I have about a year of off road experience on trails /class 6 roads in NH with some rock crawling so still A newbie. If Moab is in the picture for us which trails would you (or anyone reading this post) recommend to us as solo adventurers?

If you were up Long Canyon Road, you were right close to Gemini Twin Bridges road. Also a good one for next time!! Beautiful pics!

@Robs All of them! We were solo and made a conscious effort to not get in over our heads. I tried to remember that we needed to drive it 1200 miles home 😆 There were also a decent amount of other users out on trails that seemed willing to lend a hand.

Fins and Things was a nice starting point for us. We ran it the first day and joined in with another group of Broncos that we saw at the parking lot. That was a great introduction to terrain, the mind-bending grip levels of the slick rock, and gaining an in-person perspective on the trail reviews and online photos/videos. It's also very close to town and has quite a few optional lines so you can test your limits with little risk of needing to spend the night on trail if something goes wrong.

Out of all the trails we ran, I'd say Lockhart Basin was the most risky being solo - you're quite a ways out from civilization, it had a few crux obstacles, and it had the least amount of traffic on it. We added it in on the return from Chicken Corners just to explore. We turned around just before the v-notch as it was getting late in the day.

Hope you end up making the trip out there - it's worth it!
PS: November is a good month to go!

If you were up Long Canyon Road, you were right close to Gemini Twin Bridges road. Also a good one for next time!! Beautiful pics!
We'll definitely add that one to the list for next time. We arrived into the area in the afternoon and watched the sunset at Dead Horse State Park then headed down Long Canyon in the dark. The canyon walls give a neat claustrophobic feeling.
