Mod top production question

Since Ford is building and shipping out Heritage editions that have the painted white Modular tops, does anyone know or have any real information as to why the painted black Modular top that was initially listed in the Bronco release is not being manufactured as well? After seeing the white Mod top in person I would really like to have the same top in black.

There is more demand than the supply can meet. Adding an additional paint color option will exceed the ability to produce them. 2-dr HE orders have been cancelled and at this point in time, the 2-dr HE (standard and limited) are unavailable for ordering for MY'24.

That leaves the moar door HE as the only option to get the mod top. And Ford still can't meet that demand.

At some point, it would be nice to see some of the options that were announced at launch become a reality. Some want the gloss black mod top and others want the body-color mod top.

If ford ever introduces the mod top for non heritage builds, we should get a discount. I had my order on hold just for that option. Then they nixxed it, which suuuuucked. LOL.

Admittedly, I have seen HEs with white tops but are they really the Modular tops as they were specified in the announcements of the Broncos? I might have been in a crack induced haze but I thought the modular top was going to have the side and back windows pop out as well. Do the HEs have that?

Yes. Heritage Edition modular tops have side windows that pop out. 2 doors have a removable gunner’s hatch as well.

Side windows remove and there’s a gunners hatch that removes too. Back window is the same as others.

Pretty sad, 4 years in and they can't make them in any quantity yet. Good thing they had the crappy quality MIC to fall back on which has problems of it's own.
