Has anyone found a way to mount their poles "up and out of the way"?

I fill the interior space completely (side to side) so some of the mounting solutions already on the market do not really meet my need.

I currently keep two sets of poles in a bag with hiking boots and other gear. This works great, but looking for easier access. Maybe I'll just stow the poles behind the seats....

Better be secure or you have a javelin headed to your dome in the event of an accident.

How much room do sticks really take up?

Would something like these work on either the tailgate, back of seat or anywhere else? Probably different designs, materials and quality once you start digging. Mount with quality double sided tape or more permanent screw/bolt.

Something like this 👍

Not sure if I want to drill into the roll bar, though a permanent mount will likely be necessary.

I'm thinking maybe a quick fist that wraps around the roll bar.

I'm with you, I wouldn't want to drill unnecessary holes while there are multiple less invasive mounting options.
Those mounts look nice - do they neck down to the size of your poles? overkill for trekking poles?

I believe these can adjust down to hold two or four poles.

I used these to mount gear to my roof rack (on another rig) and they work great. Durable and retained flexibility without cracking for the time I used them. They should be good inside the vehicle, away from the elements.

I doubt Quick Fist is on this forum, but just in case. You guys should make what I am describing. You'd sell at least 1 set. :p

With you on the javelin comment. 👍

When I pack the Bronco it's full from side to side, back to front. The poles don't really take up that much space when collapsed. The access "issue" is having to dig through the pile of bags, rearrange and restack every time. It becomes a minor annoyance and I am always looking for a better way to utilize the available space.

I think horizontal on the inside of the swing gate would be a good place to mount them. If you have the gate table, you could also just use molle straps to secure them.
Swing gate and molle straps is a good idea. Same space issues though. I usually have just enough room to close the gate with everything else packed. I was considering a gate table but not sure I have enough space for that plus poles. It's gets to be a tight fit.

All this and I still say. 2 doors Rule! ;)

Velcro to roof. Works for fishing pole bag for me.

How much does your fishing pole bag weigh?

I wonder what the shear force is for velcro on the Bronco Roof Liner?

Can't they walk by themselves?

I'll see myself out.

Well, it's my trout pole, but it's got a padded butt area with all my lures and line. Certainly not more than 5lbs. I run a 1" strip down the length of the back. You can get a 2"wide roll/strip that you will likely curse at when you try to undo. I've used that to mount small computers etc. to walls, etc.
