If I could get 16 or so with combined on/off road, with a lot of idling and probably some hard pounding every so often, I'd be happy. My '96 3rd gen 4Runner gets in the 9-10 range it doesn't exactly have what would be considered power.

Haha. That’s great for you. But what’s the point for anyone else to compare this to a 25 yr 4 runner

I wasn’t so much focused on the average read out. Because that could be skewed and has so many variables.

Looks like he’s getting about 16-17mpg real-time on the gauge cruising at 47 mph. But it also bounces around at 20mpg. I think the tell is that the moment he pulls up the read out, he is steady on the throttle the gauge reads around 16-17 (closer to 16) when he’s going 50
Do we have any idea if this is a flat road or up a hill or anything?

Why’s everyone so against watching videos? 🤷
not everyone buuuut.... the viewer has to absorb the content at the pace of the video/recorder. Some people work on an hourly schedule, some on a minute and then there's me, on seconds. a hummingbird couldn't catch me in action. :coffee:

After reading 15 million estimations on this... I’m going with 19.2 average hwy/city... and can’t/don’t give a damn off road. Yes, I used a calculator for the off road portion of my analysis.

Yes... yes it does. Alongside the analog speedo. I wish it was the other way around, with an analog tachometer for the self-shifters like me 🤷‍♂️
