If avg. MPG is below this number, I'm walking away.

Thankfully in a BMW, once you turn it off, it stays off even after you restart the engine.
Um not in ours. It's a 2019 x3. I have to press it every time. Something I'm missing in the settings?

Are you using Eco Pro mode? That resets it I think.

I refuse to participate in the poll on the grounds that the assertion in the thread title is fundamentally flawed.
Agreed. MPG will vary depending on the tire size, engine size etc. Can't put them all in 1 category.

By default, it comes on in "comfort mode". Shown in left side of this photo I just took

No, but my heavy as hell 6cyl awd Volvo xc90 averages 19ish. I will be disappointed if my lighter, smaller engine, rwd Bronco is much less than that.
This. I have range concerns but it's really about the principle. The Rubicon 6.4L rates at 13/17 so, while I'm OK not having a V8, I do at least want significantly better mpg than one.

Is it so hard for some of y'all to accept that everyone here is very aware that this is a big heavy pig of a vehicle not designed to get 50MPG, while also accepting that we expect better MPG than a Russian tank? Someone expecting >16mpg on a small displacement vehicle in 2021 is not them saying I demand this be as fuel efficient as a Prius anything less is unacceptable. 20MPG is not 50MPG nobody here expects more than even 25 MPG so stop with the bad faith arguments. Nobody here wants high MPG because as you've all pointed out this isn't meant for that, but let me guarantee you, the people wanting 20MPG don't think 20MPG is fuel efficient, its just the low bar they're willing to accept on a vehicle designed for offroading but costing up to 60K.

with 20.8 gallons in the 4 door, below 14.5 avg would be hard to stomach. Below 300 miles in overall range is pretty feeble. But, that is probably where it will end up. I didn't mind that kind of economy in my 5.7L powered grand Cherokee because it had almost 25 gallon tank.

I get 19-20 in my 2019 F150 Crew cab, 3.5 EB, 4x4, w/3:73 rear, 33" tires so I'm not worried about the 2.7 in my Bronco. Oh, I don't baby the F 150 either. I do have a 5 Star tune running the 87 oct performance most of the time. Honestly don't remember if the tune helps or hurts my MPG.
