There's not a lot of info when I did a cursory search for Guard Stations but the best I've found is that they were actual homes for Forest Service workers (compared to the more sparse lookout towers) in the woods. I have yet to find information about this specific location, but seeing it called out on the map caught my eye. And that meant it was another trip to the wilderness.

I did start to wander down a trail and it got too skinny for the Bronco. While it was steep I was about to get turned around and climb back out.

Something started to moan, to me it sounded like the steering rack. Not sure what it was.

I even stopped and had some dinner.

Nice! And as for steep, think about those logging trucks doing it, crazy.

Who / what do you think originally created that goat logging trail?
It could have been created by a 4x4 club. But it sure wasn’t a full size logging truck.
