My 2-Door Black Diamond is home!

The wait was worth it!
Picked up my 2 door/2.7/Mid BD today from the dealer. First impressions from a quick inspection and the drive home:

• MIC top looks good! I will look at it closer tomorrow and see if I can find any imperfections, but overall it looks about how I would expect from molded plastic.
• Cactus Gray looks great as always
• I took the roof panels out for the ride home and they came out pretty easily even with the roof rails on.
• The 32” Grabbers and the steelies look better in person, at least on the 2 door. I was thinking of upgrading to bigger tires, but I think that will get kicked down the road at least for a little while.
• Averaged 21.1 mpg on my 80 mile drive home, switching between Eco and Sport mode and varying my RPM.
• 8 inch screen is plenty big enough for my liking
• Marine vinyl feels great, smoother than most vinyl seats I’ve felt. Feels a little different than my boat. Also feels like it could definitely get hot in the sun
• Not a lot of rear seat legroom at 6-1, I won’t be using it but if someone is interested I added a pic!
• With the seats folded down, there will be ample cargo room for my needs.

Timeline:
7/13/20 reservation (11pm ET)
2/22/21 order
5/27/21 scheduled for production w/o 7/12
6/26/21 received email “in production”
7/12/21 BLEND
7/13/21 built
7/14/21 shipped
7/16/21 arrived at dealer (Thayer Ford in Bowling Green, OH)
7/19/21 sitting in my driveway

Congrats! 2 doors do exist! Hopefully my black diamond 2dr comes out of the oven today!

All of my dates were the same from reservation through build day, 7/13. And mine has been sitting ever since. Makes me wonder why mine was flagged and yours passed?

What was your rotation, if I can ask? I was #3717 (number to the right of your blend date on window sticker).

Man, I cannot wait for mine to come home. Hard to believe it got shipped so quick. Mine got built two days later and has been waiting for a train ever since. The BD is such a good value compared to other trims.

No, my tracker is stuck on "In Production", where it's been for the last week and a half. I assume my rig has been pulled for extra QC due to the MIC top issue. But, it's not clear what that means as far as when I can expect to see it advance through the rest of the build and delivery process.

If you happen to remove the roof rack, please provide a comparison of wind noise with and without at highway speed. I drove your exact setup at the dealer a few days ago and it was pretty loud on the highway. Wonder what removing the rack would do.

I wouldn’t care about noise but I need to take work calls in the car often enough that it matters. Thanks in advance!!!

Most of us from 7/13 with MIC tops are still stuck in production, just like a lot of other people going back to late June. My guess is he was lucky to have a top that actually passed the final QC checks. The rest of us, we just wait. There must be a lot of 2dr Broncos sitting around parking lots around MAP as it seems most are stuck in this phase. Good that some tops are making the grade though.

Nice Bronco! That CG color looks tan to me in that light. I really like the 32s on your BD and think that's all I need for my BB. I'm OK with the stock wheels on the BB, just want slightly larger tires, but not 33s or Sas. Good luck to you.
