Did your Bronco sit on Ice Mountain? I can’t see a delivery date in your signature, but your build date was November. With such low miles I assume it was an Ice Mountain prisoner. I just read an article that fuel pumps can go bad from old gas if a vehicle is parked for too long. Is that even a remote possibility here?
Purchased 12/7/21. (It was in the signature, but not visible on a smart phone unless you scrolled down. I shortened up the signature just to show key dates, so you should be able to see it now.)

The vehicle was not an Ice Mountain refugee, and the gasoline was fresh. I filled up the tank twice in the last two weeks.

Have you read the manual? Do you know the proper way to fill the tank?

Can you even Bronco?

Please correct me if I am wrong BUT I thought this is why manufacturers put the pump in the gas tank to begin with .. in that the liquid cools the pump.

Makes no sense to have a pump in the tank but the pump can't get wet?
My service advisor was suggesting that the fuel pump had to have remained submerged (as designed) and could not have run dry, given the amount of fuel in the tank, even on a downward pitch of 22 degrees.

Yeah definitely keep the Bronco out of water.
Nothing to see here folks. That's an Everglades edition with the vaunted 2.3 and a snorkel. 🤿

He also arranged for a temporary loaner vehicle from Hertz, which Ford will cover for 10 days and Hertz will bill directly to the dealership.

“Nothing handles better than a rented car. You can go faster, turn corners sharper, and put the transmission into reverse while going forward at a higher rate of speed in a rented car than in any other kind. You can also park without looking, and can use the trunk as an ice chest. Another thing about a rented car is that it's an all-terrain vehicle. Mud, snow, water, woods—you can take a rented car anywhere. True, you can't always get it back—but that's not your problem, is it?" - PJ O’Rourke

I am thinking it has something to do with the impact shutoff sensors. When it hits a certain degree of angle/slope, etc. Something in the program is not allowing it to reset and start. It would be interesting to test the actual failed pump. Anymore techs are just parts replacers and are not allow to test the failed components.
What are you talking about?

Test for No Start
Found failed fuel pump
Why would you test the pump?

That's what I want to know

It would be interesting to know if there is a difference between the 2.7/2.3 in delivery requirements or if there is a difference in 2dr/4dr with different size tanks.

Here are some photos of the trail recovery to pavement and pick-up by Ford Roadside Assistance...

1) Found her just where I left her, at the bottom of the hill and off to the side of the trail...

So it would be interesting to know how much it put you back as far as recovery? Was there any hired help or was this all on you with on trail fuel pump swap? Sorry didn't read through all the post. Just saw the update on the main post.

I am glad they were able to figure it out quickly. So sorry to hear this happened on the trail. Now I wonder if the 4 door and 2 door use the same fuel pumps with their different capacity fuel tanks.

Don’t feel bad…the fuel pump went out on my Land Cruiser…after 140,000 miles! It did allow me to “limp” home though.

But even the Land Cruiser died (thankfully, in my driveway), when the integrated relay assembly failed. That was the only time it’s had to be towed, occurring at 160,000 miles.

I love my Bronco so far. But the LC is still my daily driver. $90 fill-ups are a little brutal though!
