Just droppin some pics of what I've done so far....nothing big....trying to keep it as low budget as possible.. Showing a few pics from home and from a recent trip to Leavitt Lake, Kavanaugh Ridge and Laurel Lakes.
I don't take many pictures of the Bronco, actually I don't take many pics in general....This is the best close up I got.
HF Apex 12,000lb Winch
Very cheap sub $1000 RTT
OVS Roof Rack
Go Rhino Steps
Napa compressor with EZ Flate Air hose
Inside Started with this Dashboard mount. I use Mob Armor magnetic attachments.....I'm able to have both the phone and mini iPad up there. And it has a slot for my soon to be purchased hand held radio. Also have the Mabbett USB charger in the dash for the GoPro, iPad.
This is my preliminary build out for the back. I had a Hooke Road shelf that I started using, but realized that I couldn't fit my fridge and there was too much unused space. So I removed the rear speakers, fabricated and welded my own brackets, and attached to where the speakers were mounted and made it into a high shelf. I can now store my camp chair, Devos light, hammocks and other small things up top out of the way.
Picked up some 1/4' aluminum rem sheets and cut them to make another shelf with a divider. On the left is the fridge slide and on the right of the divider is a holder I fabricated and welded for my Delta 2. And at the bottom is the Bronco security drawer. I am using the right side wing from the Hooke road shelf to attach the right side of the aluminum shelf. I went back and forth between buying a goose gear unit, or making my own...but when all is said and done I'm glad I took this third option and bought the drawer. has compartments and fits quite a bit of stuff.
Getting packed up and read to go. Plywoods painted. Was able to add a little aluminum extension to place the Dometic water jug on and also purchased the domestic faucet extension kit from American Adventure labs, so no need to take it out, it can stay right there.
Will probably grab another 1/4" aluminum rem sheet and make it all out of one sheet instead of the add on. this was mainly to see if it would work anyway. Best part is everything stayed in place the whole trip.
Retractable key ring for the fridge power cord
At Leavitt Lake getting ready to use the BroAddict Tailgate table, and using the American Adventure Labs Dometic faucet mount as a speaker holder. And if you're really looking, yes I do have an extended hitch receiver. I do a lot of mountain biking and just hate extensions especially if going off-road. This lets me fit my 1-up USA bike rack and I'm still able to fully close it when not in use. It's not the prettiest but it gets the job done....and, "knock on wood", I haven't hit my shin yet.
This is in Laurel Lakes and showing my solar set up in action. I have the back mounted with hinges. So I'm able to angle it capture as much sun as possible if the RTT is facing the wrong way. Just bought a couple of tarp poles and they fit perfect into the mounting holes I have in the front when not in use. I'm also able to charge with solar while driving, I just ran the wire through the little channel in the rear door and seems to work pretty good. I did also just purchase an Eco flow 800 Alternator, but still deciding on whether I will fully abandon the solar or not. right now I have the alternator charger set up with a quick disconnect, so it's more for emergencies. But it does kick butt at charging....800 watts is crazy.
And last I added some 1/4" steel extensions to the side ladders and welded a holder for 2 rotopax water jugs one for each side. Welded everything will the rack was still on the Bronco. Used welding blankets. Was kind of scared at first but it all worked out. It's still removable for the most part except for the top bracket.
For the future I plan to get a Rockhard 4x4 rear bumper and add the jerry can holders and the top basket. Right now most of the recovery gear and such is stored under the back seat. Bowie (my dog) gets the back seat right now. And I'd like a better place with easier access to store all the tools and stuff.
But that brings up the problem of squat....right now with just my current gear I have about 1 inch of squat loaded....when I jump on the back it goes down another .75" to 1". I weigh about as much as the Rockhard rear bumper so I guess I'll be looking into upgrading the suspension to level it all out. Guess That'll be on the Christmas list.
Here some miscellaneous pics from the trip to end...hope you enjoyed. Note: I'm not a photographer
