I didn’t reinvent the wheel here- just wanted a full, flat cargo area and sleeping platform. Still need to add a hinged headboard to the top for camping.

Materials used, totaling about $84:
4x8 sheet of 3/4” OSB (cut to 53” so I could get it home in the bronco)
6x8 outdoor carpet roll in dark grey
16” piano hinge
Adhesive spray

Hoping @Mabett will come up with a slide out tailgate I can replace this with soon.

Looks awesome, gonna try and copy that. Tell me more about those seat covers on the front seats please.

The seat covers are from Coverking, they are the poly-cotton (washable) in Cashmere color. When I ordered, they only had the 4 door version available, so I cut out and sewed my own seat release lever holes. Apparently, they are making a 2 door-specific version now.

Also worth noting- the headrest covers that came with mine don't fit and I had to sew down a section on the front that my seats don't have because the fabric stuck out strangely. Hopefully they have fixed those issues now, unfortunately mine was out of the return period by the time my ice mountain bronco was delivered & I discovered the issues, so I'm living with it just fine.

Nicely done. I wanted to keep the rear seats just in case so I came up with a storage option without removing the back seats. The panels fold back allowing the rear seats to be used. Also included tie down rings and cabinet locks which lock the panels down using the built in tie down rods built into the rear seats.

Am I missing something? How in the world did you get the seats to fold flat?

The two storage boxes are approximately the same height as the folded down rear seats which allow for the panels to lay flat on top.
There are some mods I'd make to it such as using invisable hinges rather than piano hinges but that's what I had. I might even split the two upper panels allowing you the option of using one rear seat or both.

Really nice solution with lockable storage and retaining the seats! I don't need my rear seats, but I bet there are a lot of people who might need them occasionally that could copy your build.

The bottom cushion of the seats pull forward to rest against the front seat first, THEN you fold the back down and it is flat, but elevated from the cargo floor.

Cool! It must be comfortable to camp with it
I'm hoping so, haven't gotten a chance to take it out yet, but I'll report back!
