Well, it's finally cold here and the mountains have snow.
I didn't want to pay for a $800 roof rack yet, and I didn't want to throw the ski's inside the cabin.
So, I had some 1" round and 1" square tubing laying around the garage and whipped up a slip-on Ski rack for the tailgate tire.
It's super lightweight, snug fit, and with safety strap through the tire doesn't move at all or sway.
I tossed the ski's in, threw some bungees around them to the rims, and good to go.
And best, nothing touches the rim or camera.. Bottom portion of ski's rest against rubber!
Lastly, the ski poles fit nicely between the ski's and tire and bungee'd them too!
Wish a mfgr would make something like this, i've only seen some bulky ones and hitch ones.
And yes, "Bonco", as we couldn't find the magnetic "R"
-Enjoy!!
